Binocularjak is a variant depicting a soyjak acting surpised while looking at a binocular.

History

Binocularjak appears to be traced from a man with a fedora looking angrily at binoculars. He seems to come from an unarchived /r/ thread, that while lost can be seem when looking for the catalog at the wayback machine. Although this thread appears to have received no replies, it appears to have served as a source of inspiration for the variant, with soybooru user Entiral having uploaded the 'jak on the same day the thread was made. The general purpose of the jak itself is to depict someone who holds some sort of admiration, connection or desire to some element that is reflected onto the lens of the binoculars, implying the subject is looking at it with a soyface of delight.
