Boorubux are the currency of SoyBooru, added on July 28, 2026. They were added experimentally during the 2026 SoyBooru April Fools event under the name Boints, but were removed and reimplemented later with better items and polish.
Boorubux are gained by doing various quests that range from simply logging into the site to commenting 100 times in various forum categories. They can be used to buy cosmetics such as name colors and decorations, and also items such as wedding bands, lockets, and piss.
One can also gain boorubux by gambling their money in a roulette wheel, with most high-rollers having acquired their wealth this way, though they are equally quick to lose their fortunes.
Quests
Below is a list of things one can do to gain boorubux once a day.
- Log into the site, with a streak that maxes out at a week to gain 7 boorubux a day.
- Start a News & Politics thread and get 10 different people talking in it (5 boorubux).
- Post in the artworks section (5 boorubux).
- Comment under an artwork (5 boorubux).
- Post in your blog (5 boorubux).
- Comment in a blog thread after the OP of the blog posts (5 boorubux).
- Post in a forum category other than General 100 times, with the counter being shared between the categories (5 boorubux).
- Have one of your reports resolved by a mod (5 boorubux).
Shop
Below are items available to buy in the 'bux shop.
- Piss (1 boorubux): Piss on someone. They will be notified.
- Bail (100 boorubux): Takes an hour off somebody's ban, and tells them who paid it.
- Wedding Band (1000 boorubux): Marries any two people together.
- BFF Locket (500 boorubux): Makes someone your official best friend.
- Featured Post (50 boorubux): Puts a post up as the Featured Post in the front page sidebar, until somebody else spends one of these.
- Name Kit Crate (700 boorubux): One of 15 name effects at random. Pick any colour to go with it, and go again if you land on one you already own.
Reception

Some users compared boorubux to Roblox and dislike them for adding what they see as an unserious element to the Booru, and believe that they should have stayed an April Fools joke, while others enjoy earning them, spending them, and trying to come up with new ways to get them. Overall, boorubux are relatively controversial as of July 2026.
