Skins
[edit source]- S: MonoBook: Currently the default skin on this wiki, was originally used as a default skin on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia sites, though it was replaced by Vector in 2010. As it follows from being the default skin, things like holiday-specific interface modifications are supported the best on this theme.
- S: Vector legacy (2010): Similiar to MonoBook while being more simple than it, and being better for slower devices due to the utilization of Lazy Loading and more. Comes with a unique main page and multiple UI changes to standardize it with monobook.
- Timeless: "Strongly supports responsive web design and is optimized for a multitude of screen widths ranging from narrow mobile phone screens up to wide monitors.", also formerly was the default skin on this wiki.[it just is, ok?]
- Vector 2022: More recent version of the Vector skin. It adds new features such as contents list section being opened by a hamburger button instead of displayed inside the page. It supports dark mode, however it also forces the text to become white which is a problem when some templates have a white/light background, though efforts to force text on some bright-colored templates to be black were already made.
- WPTouch: Skin for mobile devices.
- F: Nostalgia (2001): Early 2000s oldGOD LARP skin which resembles Wikipedia's legacy design.[1] It uses Times New Roman as the default font. Not recommended due to the lack of <hr>'s,[a] which makes most pages look like walls of text, and the poor placement of the category links section being at the top.
- F: Citizen: 'heckin beautiful dark-blue skin, a bit better than Vector 2022 dark mode because the shade of text is darker but also keep in mind that some infobox templates that have no problem in displaying in Vector 2022 dark mode look worse in Citizen due to blueish color of the text.
- F: Cosmos: light-blue skin, resembling Fandom's default skin on purpose. Currently causes you to lose access to your account due to a 502 error that happens when turned on while logged in, do not use.
Formerly available skins
[edit source]Skins that were available for use on this wiki in the past but not anymore. Skin names below lead to MediaWiki articles about them.
Further customization
[edit source]In addition to switching skins, you can also customize your own appearance with custom CSS and JavaScript.
Each skin has its own customizable style and script pages. For example:
- Special:MyPage/monobook.css — personal CSS for the MonoBook skin
- Special:MyPage/monobook.js — personal JavaScript for the MonoBook skin
You can use these pages to change colors, fonts, spacing, or even hide elements you don't like. The same works for other skins. Just replace monobook with the name of your chosen skin (e.g. vector, citizen, etc.).
If you want your changes to apply on every skin, use Special:MyPage/common.css and Special:MyPage/common.js instead. Customization#On_the_wiki has some scripts you can try yourself.
