This is my LARP comment here to inform fellow 'kiGODS in the future to immediately revertnvke any change that adds "Hidden Wiki", "Dread", or any .onion search engine that doesn't have content filtering on, like Torch. HW and Torch (or any other shady search engine) often point to compromised websites, porn, gore, 'p, and other antimatter. Please review any .onion link added here, especially if its shady (turn on max security before you do). {{e|informative}} Rickert (talk) 02:24, 29 July 2026 (UTC)

TAILS[edit source]

Marge, why was the recommendation to use TAILS removed? It's by far the most secure way to use Tor. The comment about how you don't need to use it unless you're distributing 'P leans really heavily into "if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear" territory. Tails is beyond the scope of this page, and the comment is there to avoid bad advice that leads regular people (including 'teens) into thinking they need Tails to use the Dark Web o algx. It is an extreme solution to say the least. Directing to opsec's OS section or a SNCA page for Tails could be a solution, but there are alternatives to Tails as well, so the first recommendation is probably a better idea. tl;dr page is about tor browser and the onion services, not opsec or operating systems. it should also try and avoid the fearmongering (telling/recommending people they need or should consider tails is one such example) a guide on noscript's features is more useful than tails, for example Rickert (talk) 23:41, 1 August 2026 (UTC)
https://ssd.eff.org/module/how-to-use-tor ssd.eff.org does not list any OS requirements or recommendations for example
Makes sense, I went ahead and made an SNCA page for Tails: SNCA:Tails Soyfield (Talk PageContributionsEmail) 19:57, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
Sounds good, I'll work on improving that page too {{e|thumbsup}} Rickert (talk) 21:30, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
