This is a hidden categoryIt is NOT shown on its member pages unless the user preference "Show hidden categories" is enabled.
This template is used to automatically hide a category from appearing on the pages it is added to, and to display a notice on the category page itself.
Usage
To make a category hidden, simply add the following to the top of the Category page:

What it does
- Adds the
magic word, which instructs MediaWiki to hide the category. - Displays a notice box to administrators and editors viewing the category page.
- Automatically categorizes the hidden category into Category:Hidden categories for easy tracking.
Note on visibility
Hidden categories are invisible to normal readers. However, logged-in users can choose to see them by going to their Preferences → Appearance → and checking the box for Show hidden categories.
