Ao Oni (blue demon/ogre) is a freeware, globally acclaimed, prize-winning, movie-adapted RPG-Maker game made in 2008. Developed in Japan, it quickly garnered a cult-like following. For some fucking reason the game was adapted into two feature-length movies, light novels, and even a manga. The game became popular after multiple Youtubers made videos about it (PewDiePie), which would popularise the game in The West.

Plot

The plot follows a random fag named Hiroshi and his classmates, together they visit a deserted mansion that is supposedly haunted. When they enter the mansion, they discover that it is home to a creature known as the "Ao Oni." A tall humanoid creature that kind of looks like Yandere-dev for some reason. There are multiple monster chases, scripted events and the game is more scary than literally heckin FNAC or something. Very little information is provided to the player about the Ao Oni, he is truly heckin mysterious and scary. If the Oni captures and kills one of Hiroshi's friends then this friend will also turn into an Ao Oni, it is literally like Covid-19.
