About the so called “tung spam”

Recently marketpliers brought this problem up and as much as i hate to admit it, he's kinda right. I think the problem with tung templates is that they don't really have established rules, which leads to them being used unnecessarily or incorrectly. They should be used to announce something important related to a page’s topic, and should later be removed from that page. There are three viable options that I can see to resolve this:

• Archive the tungs
• Lock them behind the high-value templates abuse filter (restricts them to approvers and up in the mainspace)
• Have SoycyclopediaBot remove them automatically after a set duration (Maybe like 2 weeks or something)

Honestly feel that archiving them is probably the best choice since we don't need that kind of ED slop on our wiki. 〜 MarketPliers (talk) 15:32, 22 July 2026 (UTC)
