Usage

An infobox for documenting musical groups.

Template parameters

Parameter		Description	Type	Status
Name	name	The name of the group. Defaults to the article title if left blank.	String	optional
Image filename	image	The filename of the person's image (no 'File:' prefix or brackets). Example JohnDoe.jpg	File	optional
Caption	caption	A short caption that appears under the image.	String	optional
Other names	other_names	Nicknames or aliases used by the band. Should be comma-separated and also mention when this alias was used Example Cobby (1998–2000)	String	optional
Origin	origin	The town, city etc., from which the group originated. In other words, where the group was formed. Example Los Angeles, California, United States	String	optional
Genres	genres	The genre or genres of music performed by the act. Should be separated by commas. Example Hip-hop, alternative rock	String	optional
Works	works	Link to the group's discography. If there is no section in the article for discography, link to the Wikipedia article.	String	optional
Years active	years_active	The years during which the group is/was active. Always use an unspaced en dash and also list hiatuses. Example 2012–Present<br>(hiatus: 2014–2019)	String	optional
Labels	labels	The record label or labels to which the act has been signed. Should be separated by a comma. Do not link to external websites. Example Geffen, Atlantic, Republic	String	optional
