Blepe aka "Blue Pepe", whose real name is Brett is a friend of Pepe in his originating comic Boy's Club and who attended his funeral during his death. He is also the mascot of blepe.website.

History

Blepe originated as Brett in the comic but became prominent in meme culture after comic creator Matt Furie decided to kill Pepe in a comic for being a Nazi symbol or something. The comic was posted on /pol/ where he would be reborn as Blepe to replace his deceased mate. Later, many would work so that Blepe could become the mascot of the newly created board at the time called /bant/, where much of Blepe's legacy came from. Ultimately though, he failed to replace his green counterpart in meme culture as Pepe's death did little to deter users and instead, just emboldened them, just as Ben Garrison aptly put in his iconic comic. Blepe's design is everchanging, with different shades of blue used for his skin in different illustrations, with some being edits of regular Pepe while others are redrawn closer to Furie's artstyle. Blepe didn't do much since, other than being a subject of memecoins (as all Pepes are) and also becoming the subject of blepe.website where many of his modern edits come from.
