Frenschan, or Fedschan, was a honeypot imageboard centered around Apu, purportedly in protest of the current state of /b/ and /pol/. It was created in April of 2022.

History

Frenschan was founded by the former owner of 16chan.xyz. He was interviewed by the New York Times for $500 then accepted a contract with the United States government to run a honeypot. This honeypot is known as frenschan. Frenschan captures the IPs of the remaining traffic that was scoured across the internet after 8chan died. It is truly the (((alternative))) to 8chan, free of overbearing janitors and censorship (But, as the "sanctity" of the site was threatened by outside parties, the mods are now keen on shutting down any and all posts deemed as "degenerate" or "derailment", including Soyjaks).

• On 04/21/22 frenschan Jannies rangebanned all of Israel.
• On 04/23/22 frenschan Jannies deleted their Anime board.
• Many users and soyjakkers called this out as cringe, and started raiding the site as a response, prompting several tranitor meltdowns.
• On 5/18/22 frenschan made the /qa/ board, which was made to "revive" the original /qa/.
• On 11/something/22 the /qa/ board was removed. 'jaks are still posted on other fc boards doe.

Shutdown

On April 5, 2024, Frenschan announced that it would be closing, presumably because of lack of funds and/or low activity the psychological operation had finished, although the library of books would continue to exist until the end of 2024.

Controversy and Conspiracy

This website currently sits at 4500 unique posters and 35000 posts, most of which are just bots/spam. Given the fact the site is dead as shit and slower than the least active Sharty board, they engaged in a 1 sided conflict with soyjak.party. With influential groups like the SPVA starting to shill the site, they make some believe that there are "things" that we still don't know yet .

Some posters on soyjak.party believe that Frenschan supporters have infiltrated some high end positions in the website, leading to some speculation as to the ultimate goal of Frenschan's userbase. Some believe it is ousting Soot as moderator or fragmenting it's userbase entirely while consuming it into it's own.

/qa2 (Frenschan's version of /qa/) is the shitty attempt to recreate the classic 4chan's kwah on Frenschan. The board is a massive fail and is pretty much dead.

The way Frenschan users talk is radically different from any other altchan. This causes its users to be ridiculed. Words such as henlo, fren, cozy, comfy, and other similar phrases and words are used to convey their points. This "dialect" is paired with the overbearing rule of the mods that silences any 'jak speech (such as gem, coal, brimstone, etc.).

There's also a theory that a few select users on the soyjak.party wiki that may be spies for frenschan, and are relentlessly editing this article.

On July 16, 2023, DOLL revealed that as part of the Second Great Purchase, Frenschan attempted to buy out the site.

On January 25, 2024, a /soy/ general thread was created on Frenschan's /b/ and 'teens quickly flooded it with gemeralds. As of February 3, 2024, the thread is still up and still active, suggesting that that a previous ban on soyjaks has been lifted.
