9a0c faked his death on July 20, 2025. His death was announced on a pinned thread in /soy/. After his supposed death, users Soysneed and Limeade became the new site admins. /soy/ was also changed to /soy/ - sneed, with the description changed to the SoyBooru domain.

Limeade states that he died from a gunshot wound when he was tresspassing a racehorse farmer's land (probably because he was trying to fuck the horses). Limeade did not confirm the exact date of death, but it is theorized he died days earlier prior to the announcement. This explains why the recent /dem/ election were pretty scuffed compared to the past ones.

Why was xe replaced so fast?

More than likely, it was a contingency plan in case anything ever happened. In the case of Soysneed, Quote also wanted to promote him.

Is this legit? Or is this another SNCA event?

As far as we know, this is legitimate. HOWEVER, no articles have appeared on the internet related to anyone dying in such a way. Besides that, 9a0c's admin login was used to announce the /dem/ elections, which was most likely him (since why would anyone else use it?). This is most likely an event or a way for 9a0c to quit. 9a0c was well known but also very controversial for some of this authoritarian policies. His death has also marked the end of The Soyrising. We cannot fully gasp his legacy so soon. Nevermind that he just faked his death so he could LARP as Limeade.

Aftermath

After 9a0c's death, Limeade and Soysneed were elected as admins to fill in the role of an admin now that 9a0c had died. However, many users were heavily suspicious of Limeade as he had no presence on any Soysphere-related websites prior to his election as admin alongside his speech patterns being similar to that of an AI model. This later turned out to be true, as at around 9th of August 2025, not even a month after 9a0c's "death", Quote sent an email to CordsonTALKS over some SNCA /dem/ drama where he confirmed that Limeade is an alter ego of 9a0c, giving proof that 9a0c's death was not legitimate and he had simply changed identities to Limeade (to nobody's surprise). While it is unclear why exactly 9a0c made the sudden decision to change his identity, it is likely that it was due to 9a0c's reputation being severely damaged in the time leading to his faked death, especially with SpateGate, which may have prompted 9a0c to change his identity to start off on a new name and clear his reputation. It didn't matter much anyway as even before Quote's confirmation Limeade was the most obvious alter ego ever.
