History

Snopes was created in 1994 as the Urban Legends Reference Pages which had the intent of documenting urban legends to inform about their origins and confirm or deboonk them. It has analyzed many popular urban legends such as the Headless Fingerboy, summoning Cobson at 3am, and the bigoted conspiracy theory that soy increases estrogen levels in the body. Over the years, Snopes has broadened its scope to discuss a variety of other topics such as fake news, social media posts, memes, etc.

Relation with soyjaks

Snopes had entered soyjak culture around the days of early soyjakking, being particularly enjoyed by the Classic Soyjak specifically. It complemented the themes of Soyjak being obsessed with science and peer-reviewed studies, especially given how much Snopes is enjoyed by Reddit. It has been adopted as part of soy-lingo, being used in soyquotes, and it is common to see users of the Party asking "Snopes?", whenever they want to know if something is true or not, and saying "Snopes fact checked" as a way to say that something has been confirmed, ironically or not.

Chuds have accused Snopes of being disingenuous and showing bias when debunking certain content. They assert that Snopes has been paid by ZOG to spread propaganda under the guise of truth in order to trick the goyim. This notion is especially stressed when they trust the opinions of the experts or believe information from (((powerful sources))) to be factual without regards to the possibility that the New World Order is trying to trick you.
