The Uncanny Valley is a psychological phenomenon where humans percieve similarly humanoid faces, creatures or similarly natural spaces, only to sense something is wrong with how they look. The term was coined by Masahiro Mori in his 1978 book, Robots, to describe the uncanniness produced by seeing humanoid androids that attempt to replicate real life humans.

The reasons why such phenomenon are produced are due to tthe fact that humans since their inception have developed over the course of thousands of years multiple instincts to detect dangers or foreigners. Although these natural instincts have been diluted over time, humans still retain them when they are unable to comprehend the threat they are facing. Alligators dont scare humans by mere sight because we already know them, however, if you saw an android that imitates a human face, at the very least you will feel eeriness or confused.
