Cargo is a great job for new players, for being simple, but also a very deep rooted one in the Station's integrity, because all the money comes from cargo.

Basically, you load and unload crates, create bounty cubes, order things for people, deliver orders, make things with the autolathe, and (rarely) use the mule.

Ways of getting money[edit | edit source]

Cargo Console

There are many ways of getting money for cargo.

Selling Crates and Other items[edit | edit source]

Universal Scanner

Selling empty crates gives you 200 credit bonus. You start out with your universal scanner - to see if you're selling anything worth, click it before selling it. Another thing potentially worth selling is solid plasma, with one sheet selling for 80 credits.

Doing bounty cubes[edit | edit source]

Bounty cubes are a good way to get rich quick. You have to do miniature quests to fetch stuff, or craft stuff, like spears. If you don't know how to do something, ask someone else for help. Different jobs get different bounties, this isn't affected by access but the imprint of their ID, which also determines how it looks. The imprint can be changed with the imprinter that can be found in some head of staff offices, including the HOP's office, cargo technician IDs for example get any bounty out of all the pools, assistants get simple bounties usually finished with just the help of an auto lathe, and doctors get bounties for organs. The person who did the bounty gets a sum of the money, with the rest going to cargo's budget and whoever scanned it when it was on the shuttle, if anyone did.

Building coffins[edit | edit source]

On this server's codebase (Monkestation) coffins count as crates, letting them be sold for 200 credits. They can be made with 5 wood planks, with the wooden plank crate that costs 800 credits giving you 50 of them while also giving you a crate that the wood arrives in. This gives you a total of 1400 credits profit per plank crate. You can build assemblers to automatically build coffins if you don't want to do it manually.

How to use the cargo shuttle[edit | edit source]

  1. Go to the cargo console
  2. If it says "centcom", click it to send it to the station. If it doesn't say that, then it's loaned and will return soon for some bonus money.
  3. Load it up with shit you've scanned with your universal scanner. Make sure to scan cargo cubes in the shuttle to receive a part of the cube's value to your ID once it ships!
  4. Send it after closing all of the shuttle's doors (optional).
  5. Get paid.
