hey chief won’t you cut me some slack

as far as outages go, I feel like it’s fairly notable. Sure everything goes down for brief periods of time near constantly but its probably one of the first times in a while cf thought it was an attack. If it was a DDoS then I think that’s all the more reason write something about it

There’s plenty of one-off main namespace pages of this caliber and I opted to make this rather than shit up happenings or the outages page. RN I’m probably going to (try to) make this a somewhat funny article with a war box template and depending on what happens write about how cloudflare works because I feel like there’s a little value in that kind of thing JDS1948 (talk) 23:28, 19 July 2026 (UTC)

Nothing came of it though, it wasn't even an hour of downtime. If the site would've been down for 12-24 hours or more that would be notable enough to deserve it's own page, not 47 minutes geg. These periods are often not even worth a mention on happenings.

I mean with my own experience with CF when it blocks you as a one off its pretty easy to resolve and is usually a fluke like you said, BVT during this particular outage I was running a few quebes which at a point all showed the same thing so I’m thinking something was probably up with that. Furthermore when the site goes down normally CF will return a host error of some kind (500-524 not all r related doe) unless cftunnel got fucked but why would it start returning blocks to everyone if that was the case

Another thing I’m thinking is that this could potentially be the longest outage in a while, while like you said it’s not like the site was down for >12 hrs it’s certainly an outlier. Gotta count for something JDS1948 (talk) 00:16, 20 July 2026 (UTC)

Investigate what? Unless Quote or Mustard suddenly decide to drop their cloudflare logs what is there to investigate? I thought it would be snca and obsessed beyond belief to document a sharty outage of less than an hour of duration but honestly the explanation is kinda interesting for the nophonos out there who don’t know that much about how websites work and all that shit, plus is le scary kino o algo

I assumed they’d let the talk page run its course before deleting, but if any Mod eg MarketPliers sees this I’d still like to make a case for this article being around;

• This outage, particularly, was an outlier by a long shot
  • I wrote out extensively within the page what makes this unique from everything else, I have it saved so I can grab it if needed but I want to refrain from shitting up the talk page. I don’t just write shit whenever the site returns http 5xx for 20 odd seconds.
• I think it’s a good opportunity to present a specific but not particularly serious example of skid shit/DDoSing that’s hit the site, the pages for this kind of thing aren’t bad but I feel like a major inhibitor when it comes to basically any article is that there’s a lack of examples & case studies and that sort of thing.
• I also think it’s just an opportunity to be funny, I’m not a particularly creative person but I feel like there is some value in a somewhat humorous warbox template and that sort of thing
