The Soycraft Elections
The Soycraft Elections were a Soycraft event in which players of the server attempted their bids for the presidency of Soycraft II.
Submissions Period[edit | edit source]
On the 25th of August The Manager of Soycraft II, Mist would post a thread in which he would announce the beginning of The Soycraft Elections. Players of the server would have to submit a form which included The Following :
- Name of President
- (Optional) Name of Vice President
- Faction
- Party
- Ideology of Party
- Promises
In the thread it was also stated that as president you would be able to declare things like Public Projects, Make a new Currency in the server, And also get "Special Weaponry." For guards and self-defense. A term of the presidency was to last 2 weeks only. Other players could decide if they wanted to follow The President's rule or attempt to oppose it or even assassinate them. The elections were heavily advertised on Soyjak Party Video Archive's community tab and a repost sticky about it was made on /soy/.
Campaign Trail[edit | edit source]
On the 27th of August another announcement was posted by Mist in which the three presidential candidates and their parties were revealed, they were given three days to make propaganda, campaign for their cause and generally strive to get more players to vote for their party, the following players who attempted to become President were BaconLover07 (Abstain Infrastracture Union), FrogBVLL (Storm Front) and Usnutt (Anarcho-Fascist).
BaconLover, an already seasoned player would try to sway the players of Soycraft by promising to improve spawn by providing useful things for NewGODs, building towns, ports, making new roads and farms and also making more laws.
FrogBVLL would also follow giving similar promises, he would set multiple phases, the primary goal was to have spawn leave a lasting impression on NuGODs, to highlight already existing builds and settlements, in the other two stages there were promises to also make a Soysylum, a President's Office and even more.
Usnutt, an old Soycraft (Old) veteran would head the Anarcho-Fascist Party into the elections, he would promise to hang all jannies, that "oldfrogcraftas will hang", and that the server's economy will run on a constant warfare system, that "TRVE ARYAN NIGGAS" will rise above "the weak niglets" and establish a new soy world order under Anarcho-Fascism.
Forgotmypassword's Entry into The Campaign[edit | edit source]
On the 28th of August 2024, a player named Forgotmypassword would also attempt to enter the bid for presidency, Forgotmypassword would be running on a somewhat similar campaign to BaconLover's, however he would bring a radical change with himself. His campaign promised to relocate spawn entirely from its original position, into a much more jungle-like environment, and to build new structures around it. On top of all this he would also promise to build a Nether portal highway system for long distance travel. He was apart of the same faction as Baconlover too. This faction was known as "abstain."
The Antidemocracy Movement[edit | edit source]
Another candidate, this time anonymous would enter the race on the 28th of August 2024. His campaign was built around the concept of being anti democracy, and thus he planned to bring a feudalist system onto the server, him and his supporters would build massive castles and would together form a cult of personality. He would also state that he was not apart of any faction at the moment, was unbiased about server geopolitics and that all the other candidates were "kike puppets and will be executed."
The Sprite Campaign[edit | edit source]
In the early morning of August 29, 2024 the player Sprite1488 would also enter the elections, running on a campaign of maintaining the Chudway and its Infrastracture, whilst also expanding it further for the benefit of all teens', solo factions would also be protected by Sprite's faction known as Woluntas, ontop of this "Rules would be enforced, trannies would be hanged and niggers would be lynched" there would also be an eventual attempt to discuss the addition of a plugin known as Movecraft to the server with the jannies of the server, a plugin which would allow the addition of movable boats, flyable planes and walkable cities.
Voting Period[edit | edit source]
On the 29th of August, 2024 Mist would announce the beginning of the voting period. Players would have to get a book and quill (provided at /warp voting) and give the book to one of the admins together with the name of the candidate they would wish to elect as the name of the book. Before the process was supposed to be more automatic, together with a hopper system but that was quickly scrapped.
Eventually, after a day and the server crashing, having the factions plugin corrupted and finally going back up the results were shown. The winner of the elections was FrogBVLL. With around 60% of the server deciding to vote for him. One person would even decide to vote for Nicocado Avocado.
