>Hello teens. I would like to apologize to you guys and @User:Administrat0r for going around in circles and constantly spamming him with questions I had, especially to the mods who had to watch me repeatedly bring this stuff up. I am genuinely sorry about that.

>I understand that he is probably really busy with IRL and other stuff and, as a result, can't respond much and might miss messages or emails. The reason I kept asking so many questions was because I was concerned about what was happening when I heard the news and became anxious when nobody seemed to know why he wasn't responding. I started worrying that he might have lost interest in the wiki entirely, and I didn't really know what we were supposed to do if that happened leaving everything to rot. I thought it would be a good idea to bring up my concerns and why I been acting that way for transparency

>The wiki should, after all, be capable of functioning mostly by itself. I understand why all of the high-level permissions were taken away from everyone else following the security incident, and in the immediate aftermath I think being cautious made sense. My concern is more about the long term. Right now, Administrat0r is the only person with those permissions, meaning that if he is busy, disappears, or simply loses interest, there are certain things that none of the remaining staff can do regardless of how much we agree on them. We can't even appoint another bureaucrat ourselves because none of us have the permission required to do that

>I also don't think the only two choices have to be either keeping all of those permissions on one account forever or risking another security incident by handing them out freely. I think we can make privileged accounts significantly safer first. One idea I already brought up was requiring 2FA for bureaucrats and other accounts with particularly sensitive permissions, along with requiring strong, unique passwords. While also advoiding @soyjak.st addresses as the sole recovery method for privileged accounts and instead use independent, secured recovery emails. I even suggested a way to preform a lockdown that mods can toggle just in case something like this happens again. That way, when bureaucrat and interface-admin are eventually delegated again, we're addressing the reason those permissions were restricted in the first place instead of simply going back to how things were before.

>I'm not trying to rush Administrat0r into handing out permissions immediately, and I'm definitely not saying that a few days of inactivity means he has abandoned the place. I mostly want us to know what the long-term plan actually is so the wiki isn't dependent indefinitely on one person being online, espeically since he is hard to get into contact with.

>Once he returns, I think the most important questions to resolve are:

>* When does he intend to delegate bureaucrat again? >* Who does he intend to give it to? Will there be multiple bureaucrats? >* Does he still want Cobblestone to return to staff and potentially administration? >* If Fenriris remains active, what role does he want Fenriris to have? >* Who should hold interface-admin for technical maintenance? >* What additional security requirements should apply to privileged accounts? In particular, could we require 2FA, stronger passwords, and independent recovery emails? >* Are there any plans for a developer? If so, who? How should staff request new features or technical changes? If he is looking for someone, I wouldn't mind doing it myself since I already have a lot of experience with PHP and have worked on quite alot for the wiki already through my bot. >* I saw that a lot of the staff and teens are having trouble to get into contact with him, myself included so will he be willing to open up some kind of quick contact method for all of the joons? In case of emerginces? >* What about my wiki bot? Does he want me to continue operating and developing it? If I remain responsible for it, what permissions does he want the bot to have, and who should I coordinate with if a new feature requires changes beyond what the bot account can do?

>More than anything, what bothers me is being left in the dark. When I don't know what's happening or what the plan is, I have a tendency to keep thinking about every possible outcome and repeatedly ask questions trying to figure it out. I realize that doing that doesn't actually help and just annoy everyone else, which is why I'm apologizing for it.

>I'm going to stop constantly asking Administrat0r the same questions and give him time to respond when he's available. I just hope that when he does return, we can get some clarification on these things and establish a structure where the wiki can continue functioning even when any one person is unavailable.

>Oh, and Salt when you get this I would be Aryan it if you cound answer these questions on behalf of the teens. I think they are curious as well and have most of the same concerns. Thanks for your understanding guys Fenriris 🐺 00:05, 18 August 2026 (UTC) >:I realise that being an administrator has turned something that was supposed to be fun into a significant commitment. In fact, I am still doing that now. Its also because honestly, I feel anxious about leaving this site, fear of the unknown type of thing, so I am not sure what to do now. Again, I would like to appologise guys. If anyone could soothe my concerns, that would be great! Fenriris 🐺 00:16, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
