OK Soor. What is your personal opinion on the current state of the sharty?

It's definitely a lot different than I remember. It has to have been a good while since I've meaningfully browsed this place, so I guess that's bound to happen. I've heard some fairly bad things that I can't personally confirm due to my inactivity.

If you were the admin right now what changes would you make to the site?

Perhaps I'd make some changes to moderation policies or something? Can't say I'm too sure. It's been so long since I've been admin. Given how popular this website is now, I feel like fairly moderating might be much harder than it used to be.

All I can remember about them is the constant catalog spam when they were first becoming a thing. Not sure about them these days.

Is this the direction you thought the site would go? Do you feel it's drifted too much from what it was intended to be?

I feel like popularity kind of ruins the intent of many sites like this. I never imagined the site would gain any traction, which was why I feel like I was somewhat unprepared to moderate the site as it became more popular. I just wanted an alternative to /qa/ to post soyjaks on at the time.

Sometimes. I feel like I couldn't really take the sharty any further. I don't have any technical expertise and I didn't have enough time or enough good moderation staff to make up for that

I just don't know if I'm committed enough, or if it would ever be worth making. I feel like soyjaks have become so mainstream that there are a lot of coalers that could also negatively affect the quality of such a place.

How do you feel about Soytan? Do you think she should come back as the sharty's main mascot?

If it were me, I probably would consider it. It's hard to pick one thing to be the site mascot but I feel like soytan was kind of neutral since you didn't have to put one particular soyjak variant as the mascot.

Yeah, i kind of do. But at the time, it's hard to say what I would have done given everything that I had going on.

literally every single admin that came after you was a discord tranny/offsiter who put their discord friends on the mod team, selling the site was the biggest mistake you've ever made.

soot how stressful was it when this site became an actual going concern? i wasn't here during your time but i've always felt sorry for you since nobody could have expected this board would become so popular

sometimes it was quite stressful. As I've said, I didn't have a lot of mods, so much of my waking hours were spent constantly checking this place to make sure there was no illegal shit or spambots. Even on vacation with my family, I remember being on my phone checking on things constantly since the site was being ddosed at the time

It depends where these new users came from. A lot of these new users seem to be coming from reddit and discord which is probably an issue with the website. For this place in particular, it's hard to care too much as I no longer have any stake in it. As for soyjaks, I always want to see them continue to be popular.

Soot would you ever want to be a mod again in any capacity? Even if you did no work and just namefagged occasionally, I think most people would like you and your input here
