- By the way, are you the creator of Swolesome? Fenriris 🐺 01:14, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- Yo Fenriris 🐺. i am indeed.
- fellow Arch+KDE aryan here btw if that matters. Also marge is this how you reply? i'm a 'ki newGOD Blogson (talk) 18:30, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, that's correct. That is indeed how you reply. I was just curious. I also wanted to know where I can find the source code so I can add it to the page, cant find it anywhere even doe is supposed to be AGPL Fenriris 🐺 19:06, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- Trve i will release the source. i was gonna keep it quiet for now as the software is an absolute pajeeterald currently (obsessed alpine doesn't do recursive components so i had to find an ugly workaround) so i don't want teens to download it and never update. i guess if we mark it very clearly as being a beta version i could release source on the 'ki. how is best? i can unprivate the GH repo and link? Blogson (talk) 19:21, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- I see, that makes since. Yeah, I would go with that, thats a good idea. Also, not trying to shill it or anything, but if you are intreasted in doing an component based approach as you mentioned, id recommend Blazor. I like it because everything runs either in the browser or on the server, depending on what you choose, and it ties in nicely with the full .NET ecosystem, plus it's fast and you can reuse alot of backend logic. Though, if you want something more simpler, you could go with React. I never used it myself, but from what I heard it is about as quirky as JavaScript can get. Fenriris 🐺 23:49, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
- Let me know once you have released the source. It would be great to put it on that page Fenriris 🐺 23:39, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
- eh i'll just add it now cause i'm gonna be away for a couple days from tomorrow. be warned it's absolute brimstone code, i just wanted to bash something out quickly that works. not done any real work on it since release either. thanks for the tips, i'll consider some options. and yeah i've heard react is... interesting... i haven't used it personally, just Vue Blogson (talk) 23:51, 15 October 2025 (UTC)
- Here ya go, chud https://github.com/blogson-wabag/swolesome Blogson (talk) 00:15, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
- Honestly, it is not bad, but I see what you mean. I would not mind helping you rewrite it in web assembly Blazor if you want, with cleaner code, just will take a while to do. Ill submit an pull request when done. Fenriris 🐺 05:06, 17 October 2025 (UTC)
- Blogson here (away from my PC until tomorrow). Yeah that could be a good idea, I have never used blazor though. Will chuds still be able to run locally? The benefit of plain JS is not having any kind of build step. I guess we can compile and add it as a release on GH? Idk I've never played around with WASM before. ~Chud7369 (talk) 09:28, 17 October 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah, you definitely can. Blazor WebAssembly apps can be built and then served as static files, so anyone could just host or run it locally without needing .NET installed on their system as it compiles down to plain WASM + JS. You’d just need to bundle it once Fenriris 🐺 18:59, 17 October 2025 (UTC)
- Alright, starting the rewrite now, you can track the progress through WikiBotJaks gh account. Feel free to contribute anything during the rewrite (that includes any teens lurking in here). The help would be greatly appreciated. For now it will just be a copy of course. Fenriris 🐺 02:28, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
- epic sauce. i will help where i can but have never programmed in c# before so might take me a bit to learn the ropes. also marge i can't see the repo on your GH Blogson (talk) 13:57, 18 October 2025 (UTC)
- Thats because I have not pushed anything up to it yet, give me a few Fenriris 🐺 21:40, 18 October 2025 (UTC)

Progress Update[edit source]
Hello, just wanted to update you that I am pretty much complete with the rewrite. The only thing that is left is to add back the configuration optins, but everything else works. I should have that done and ready for release by end of week. So you can take a look at it now, and tell me what you think ;)
There is one little issue with it though, which I am not sure to leave in or not that I wanted to ask you about. I saw that Swolesome has an expand feature where when clicked will do a search by those results, I have it too but noticed it shows up in exports as well. My blazor rewrite currently does not do this, and was not sure if it would be a good idea to leave this out or not, that way it does not get too cluttered with expanded results. Thoughts?
P.S. What do you think about Blazor so far btw? Fenriris 🐺 06:05, 19 November 2025 (UTC)
- hey again. oh nice! i didn't know you were still working on it. sorry i haven't been able to help, i have been pretty busy with other stuff and kinda burnt out with programming in general...
- i'll take a look tonight. as for the export thing, i'd say you probably want the expanded results cause they might contain important info, but only export them if they're visible i guess. i think that's how it works currently but i don't really use that feature tbh
- but yeah i haven't really been able to explore blazor much, seems pretty decent from what i can tell though. not a fan of the C# syntax though but that's just personal autism ig
- aryan beast btw. xx Blogson (talk) 17:38, 20 November 2025 (UTC)
- Got it, ill do the export thing. It's just been taking a while because I got an actual job and preparing to do an move, plus I do a few other things in my free time. Getting there though
- Also yeah, the syntax is a bit wired, but once you get used to its pretty Aryan Fenriris 🐺 22:56, 20 November 2025 (UTC)
