Yume Nikki ("ゆめにっき", "夢日記", "Dream Diary") is a genre-redefining bone-chilling sciencefiction dream simulator "RPG" (evendoe it isn't an actual rpg it is just made in RPG Maker 2003) where you play as a depressed asian female, visit your dreams and kill yourself. It has garnered a cult following mostly made out of indieslop consumers and even its own imageboard, Uboachan. (also MoonMetropolis likes the game judging by his pfp on the 'schlog)

Plot

'adotsuki

You control a chink named Madotsuki (her name is NOT yume nikki. It's likely 窓付き mado-t(s)uki "having a window" in reference to the dreaming) The game is so incredibly boring yet people still play it either way, with no dialogue, combat or plot; there is also no way to reach a game over besides killing yourself after you collect all the effects, when you collect all 24 effects you can wake up, go to the balcony of your little soy-cubicle and jump off the building. Women (real this time) adore this game, if you know about yume-nikki you are almost guaranteed to get game and get a Tradwife. The game also features multiple NPCs you can meet whilst playing the game.

Poniko/Uboa

There is Poniko (ポニ子, "Ponytail girl") who is 100% Aryan, she lives in a conical house located on one of the islands in the Pink Sea. She is the sole resident of the Pink Sea, living alone in a single room, much like Madotsuki herself. She constantly looks to her left side and does pretty much nothing. There is a 1/64 chance that she will turn into a ̶b̶l̶a̶c̶k̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶w̶h̶i̶t̶e̶ ̶j̶a̶r̶t̶y̶c̶u̶c̶k̶ Uboa (ウボァ) which is literally heckin Gaster from Undertale and will send you to niggerhell or something.

KyuuKyuu-kun

'le BPC

"Kyuu-kyuu (kun)" (キュッキュくん)- a Rapeson slopjak with a staircase fetish (if you go up the staircase that the bpc likes to rub, there is a door at the top of the stairway is the same as Madotsuki's bedroom door. When she walks through it, a giga slopjak flashes the screen, which leads to Madotsuki being forced to awaken.)

Toriningen

Toriningen (鳥人間, "Bird-humans") are a certain group of characters in Yume Nikki. They have long pointed snouts for noses that appear beak-like, hence their name.

There are three variations, each with a different hairstyle: twintails, ponytail, and bobbed hair, who each have a mostly identical face. The three types also have a different outfit on. If you stab a Toriningen, it will go batshit insane and will chase you. If it catches you it will send you to closed-off trap area.

Monoe

Monoe (モノ江) is a black and white girl with squinted eyes and a small grin. She sports a black skirt, a white collared T-shirt, and long black hair that hangs down to her shoulders. To get to her, you need to kill some random fuck named Dave so you can enter the cave she lives in. If you interact with her Monoe jumpscares you with her asian face (even DOE she is a SISA)<------lie

Monoko

Monoko (モノ子, "Monochrome Girl") is a black and white girl with cross-shaped eyes and an open mouth. She sports a patterned skirt, a white collared T-shirt, and black hair tied into unbraided pigtails. If you use the stoplight effect, she turns into a heckin monster from Madotsuki's greatest nightmares.

Mafurako

Mafurako (マフラー子, "Muffler Girl") is an NPC who can be found in Block World.

Initially, Mafurako appears to be invisible except for the hat and scarf she wears. However, using the Stoplight effect causes her to reveal her true appearance as a girl. When you interact with her, she will teleport you to random parts of Block World, there is a small chance that she will teleport you to the portal that takes you to the White Desert

Kamakurako (かまくら子, "Igloo child") is an NPC that can be found in one of the igloos in Snow World and just sleeps in it.

Seccom Masada-sensei

Sentimental Komuro Michael Sakamoto Dada-sensei (センチメンタル小室マイケル坂本ダダ先生) or simply Masada, is a character that inhabits the Spaceship. He is found in the Spaceship, of which he appears to be the pilot. He is initially facing a large organ at the front of the ship, though he will slowly turn to look in all four directions randomly. If the Spaceship Crash event is activated, he will be frantically looking in all four directions, as if he is panicking, and will make a higher-pitched noise when interacted with. When the ship finally crashes on Mars, he will instead make a lower-pitched noise when interacted with, possibly signifying that he is upset by the ordeal.

More primary information

There are also the effects, effects are usually scattered throughout the dream world, some are more easy to find than others. Some are purely cosmetic whilst some actually have a purpose.

Due to the popularity of Yume Nikki, there are lots of Yume Nikki fan games out there, including .flow, Yume 2kki(Yume 2kki is yume nikki but if it was good o algo.), LCDDem, Yume Nisshi, Answered Prayers, Yume Graffiti, Me, Ultra Violet, and Yuque.

The creator of the game KIKIYAMA (ききやま) is a heckin hikikomori, very little can be said about them, due to the scarcity of information regarding their identity and location. There is also a yume nikki manga, however it is not made by him.

Remake

Klaus Schwab was tired of the game encouraging his goycattle to kill themselves early so he strongarmed the dev into loosely partnering with some chink studio and releasing a 3D (the extra dimension is escapism) version of the game where you touch grass in the end instead of killing yourself.
