If you wish to do a service for the wiki, then please check the Marked for deletion list from time to time. Then, you judge whether each page should be deleted or not. Before deletion, check the What Links Here, especially on templates. If you decide it shouldn't be deleted, then you may remove the Delete template, or replace it with the DoNotDelete template. Keep in mind, that the latter option takes up space at the top of the article.

A happy janny who follows the policy. 8^ )

This page serves as a guideline for jannies. First off, you do it for free. Second, as a janny, you're volunteering to serve the community. Don't be a powerjanny, don't go on a clitty leaking rampage like a Selfish Little Fuck.

As a janny, you WILL maintain good conduct.

Rules for Janny

 1. You WILL enforce the Rules
 2. You WILL follow the Rules
 3. You WILL NOT ban an innocent user
 4. You WILL NOT fight with or disrupt a higher ranking janny

Handing Out Blocks

Editors are expected to follow the Rules, and jannies are expected to enforce them. If you block a user that broke no rules, then the ban is unfair. If you do this, you might get warned or de-jannied. Therefore, keep your bans fair.

Only serial vandals, and violators of Rules 1 and 7 should be permabanned. Otherwise, try to hand out temporary bans.

Offsite Communities

As for Rule 7, the general rule is that if a user is found to be a cordnigger within the Sharty, the Booru, and/or the Schlog, then they'll be considered a cordnigger on the Wiki. If they prove themselves to be a cordnigger on the wiki alone, then you may also ban them in that instance. Usually, they break Rule 1, which gives a reason to ban, anyway.

Deleting a Page

If you wish to do a service for the wiki, then please check the Marked for deletion list from time to time. Then, you judge whether each page should be deleted or not. Before deletion, check the What Links Here, especially on templates. If you decide it shouldn't be deleted, then you may remove the Delete template. Keep in mind, that the latter option takes up space at the top of the article.

Deleting Unmarked Pages

With some exceptions, you shouldn't do this. If you don't have a really good reason, then please mark the page for deletion, and let other jannies decide. This is good conduct.

Protecting a Page

Pages can be protected for various reasons. This action has the least consequences to pages and users, therefore it's the least regulated.

Just don't excessively protect pages, and don't remove a protection, unless it's somehow not permissible. If the protection aligns with the Examples Subsection, it's most likely permissible.

Examples of Protection

Below are some examples of when pages are typically protected:

 • Templates are always semi-protected, permanently.
 • Pages that experience edit wars are full-protected for a limited period of time. Semi-protection might not work, because autoconfirmed users may be involved.
 • Certain pages can be soft removed. Not deleted, but rather changed to a redirect. Soft removal involves fully protecting the article.
 • Banned pages are protected from being created.

Ranks

Not all jannies are equal. If you have a dispute with another janny, then remember their rank, and yours. The more rights a janny has, the more of a say they have in manners. Ultimately, Sharty admins have the highest rank, even above the wiki's Head Admin.

Disagreements are okay, but ultimately, the higher ranking janny has the final say. Do NOT edit war with an Admin, if you're a Helper. Otherwise, apply common sense.
