Ashbie is a DEAD, FORCED MEME

You may try to revive it, but this forced meme may stay dead.

Ashbie Moon, otherwise known as Aspie-chan was a meme popular on the old /qa/ representing girls with autism.

History[edit | edit source]

Aspie was first created on an Enbie general in /qa/, being inspired by the Pink-Haired Enbie, with "Aspie" being a popular term to refer to those with Asperger's syndrome. Ashbie is a representation of quirky and playful autistic girls, particularly the type who would browse /qa/. She is often represented as the girlfriend of Apu Apustaja, with memes referencing their improbable yet healthy relationship, in this case, Apu represents the viewer, reflecting the desires of many anons to have girlfriend with the same autistic interests as them.[2] She was created by an Instagram user of the same name, who uploaded many pictures of her.[3]

Design[edit | edit source]

Ashbie's design evolved many times, originally having a green shirt and pigtails with a design inspired by Derpina from Rage comics. The design eventually evolved in its most popular iteration with a blue shirt and short hair with a ponytail, sometimes downing the famous "Be patient, I have autism" cap.

Reception[edit | edit source]

Reception was mixed on /qa/, with most loving it but some calling it cringe-inducing coal and a forced meme. However, Aspie was well received on other 4chan boards, and became popular enough even among normies, who created various fanart of her.
