/qa/ - Question & Answer† (pronounced "kway" or "kwah" (ˈkweɪ in International Phonetic Alphabet)), sometimes referred to by the pronunciation or old /qa/) was a UNESCO World Heritage Site and former unlisted 4chan board for discussing site-wide meta (later ended up being an equivalent of a /soy/ board because /qa/ was promised to us 3000 years ago), which was destroyed on April 25, 2025 by the selfish little fucks moderating the website. /qa/ is the promised land for 'teens like Israel is to the (((Jews))). It was promised to us 6 gorillion years ago and the duty of of every 'teen to reclaim Zion and return to the kway🗝️.
Originally founded on January 23, 2015, it served as a platform for Moot to host a question and answer thread before he would quit as the site owner. The board was permanently locked on November 3, 2021 during the Great Soyset, and unlocked briefly on April 14, 2025 during the Great Cuckset. Over time, the board was colonized by multiple warring factions of shitposters, including: soyteens, frogposters, and leebaiters; fans of Touhou from /bant/, fans of K-Pop; enjoyers of political webcomics;[2] schizos who lost their way from /x/; some actual trannies;[3] some /pol/[4] and /leftypol/[5] propagandists, BBC/BWC spammers, and a couple one-off avatarfags such as the poster who hated The Doors,[6] the Boymoder poster,[7] the French Megumin poster,[8] the poster who posted a cow along with the word nigger,[9] the poster who hated the word though, the poster who wasn't a killer but don't push him, the Rikka avatarfag,[10] the poster who posted dinosaurs in every thread,[11][12] the one guy who hated Jefre Cantu-Ledesma among countless, countless others, who all mostly partook a little bit in each other's culture.
The stickied image of the board was a picture of penguins in Boulders Bay, South Africa, originating from Hiroyouki himself who likely took the picture around 2017.[13]

The Scramble for /qa/[edit | edit source]
Before Soy[edit | edit source]
Originally created as a board for moot to do his farewell stream after announcing he was stepping down from 4chan.[14] Despite being planned to be deleted, anons begged for /qa/ to stay as the one meta board on 4chan, and thus it did. The board remained unlisted and practically forgotten until hiroshima nagasaki relisted it so he could use it as his chatroom and fearmonger that 4chan was gonna die if they didn't cut site spending and sell more passes.[15] Due to that, anons sets their eyes on /qa/ and realize it has no janitors, coming en masse to flood it with trump election shitposts until /qa/ turns into the site's only swf off-topic board. What follows is a year long turf war between troll gangs from 8chan, /pol/, [s4s], /bant/ and more over control of /qa/'s culture that ends when /jp/ rejects with a severe case of oldfag larp genocide the locals by botspamming quay 24/7. The weeb mafia proceeds to pick fights with the mods for moving meta threads to the meta board making jannies punish them by disabling post deletion then everyone leaves for a bunker since things got so autistic the botspammer was waging a civil war with a former weeb who went insane and started counter spamming the bot by making pepe frog threads manually every day for the entirety of 2019 until mods have enough and set a 7 day autosage that inflamed hiki clitties so much they all self-exile to yet another japanese culture spinoff called kissu.moe. This made it a very unmoderated board with little meta-discussion. By 2020, /qa/ was a dead board used as a playground for various 'cords such as the leecord[16], sneedcord[17], the Slow Burners[18] and /bant/ trans rights spammers.[19]
Colonization by Soy[edit | edit source]
/int/, the home of The Swede and the first variants, was slowly taken over by soyjak and gigachad spam. /tv/ was the second home of Soy where Chad taught 'teens to raid and soyduel. Both were so successful they spread 'jakking all over the 'cuck, causing a gigantic amount of seethe and forcing jannies to start rangebanning anyone who posted soyjaks. Purges cause /int/ and /tv/ users to migrate to /qa/ where even MORE seethe was created. Since /qa/ was an low-PPH board with no jannies, it was practically screaming to be painted with spam as if it was an empty canvas. When 'cords saw how powerful jaks were, they replaced their usual spam with 'jaks allowing EVEN MORE soyjak spam to take its place.[20][21]
In turn, the colonization was an overall success. With the help of 'teens /qa/ develops it's own, soy-influenced culture and becomes the largest off-topic board. Cultural contact and cross-pollination ensues as archeological finds from yore /quay/, /qa] and Kway substrata are mixed with new ritual shitposts, adopted and carried over to the Sharty, becoming the basal NAS culture of the Party's new /qa/, while the sharty exports fruitjaks, cobson and chuds.
Persecution of Soyposters[edit | edit source]
The stickied post on /qa/ claimed that the board had "no specific theme and you are free to be yourself!",[22] but in practice Janitors would ban posters they didn't like and would frequently initiate purges of soyjak posters, sometimes wiping half the board in the process. Whether these mass-banwaves constituted political repression is currently the subject of an investigation by the United Nations Human Rights Council. The earliest attested soy banwaves begin in February '21 as punishment as the Sharty starts raiding other boards.[23]
Deletion[edit | edit source]
Main article: The Great Soyset
The cabal of moderators who run 4chan had long been discontent with the direction /qa/ had taken, and mostly used it as a dumping ground for meta threads on other boards. Starting in November 2020, a resident schizo who had went off his meds began prophesysing and shared his visions of an inpending catastrophe befalling /qa/ within the near future. He tried to warn people by posting jannyjaks,[24][25] but few listened to his words. Rumour has it that 4chan jannies had him arrested and forcibly remedicated.

On November 3, 2021, 4chan operatives orchestrated the long-rumoured Operation Clean Stable and permanently wiped the board clean, leaving it locked to this day. This is referred to in Soyical Folklore as the Great Soyset.
Implications[edit | edit source]
The deletion of /qa/ created a large dispora community of former /qa/ users. Most soyteens emigrated to the Party, while other factions relocated in /bant/, and others yet were never heard from again. An increase in off-topic soyposts has been noticed on pretty much every board since /qa/ was deleted.
On November 10, 2021, the Soy Community initiated Operation Soyclipse in an attempt to avenge /qa/ by raiding multiple 4chan boards; however, it was quickly defeated.
Allegations of involvement by Soot[edit | edit source]
Soot was NOT involved in the deletion of /qa/. You WILL take your meds.
Janny misdoings[edit | edit source]

On April 25, 2022, a /trash/ moderator created a thread with an image named 'ywabaw.jpg' and with the body "/qa/ lost.". This was then moved to /qa/ and deleted ~48 minutes later.[26] Gemmy archiveGODs responded to this thoughever.[27][28]
/qa/ unlocked (kind of)[edit | edit source]
On March 19, 2024, a whole 2 years, 4 months, 16 days after the massacre, The 4chan Happenings Thread currently on /trash/ was swapped with the thread on /bant/. The thread was posted to /r9k/, [s4s], /bant/, and /b/ earlier in the week, with anons saying they should all be moved to /trash/ or shuffled. An anon in one of the moved threads suggested that it be swapped with the thread on /qa/, and it's moved there minutes later. The old thread on /qa/ was left untouched. https://boards.4chan.org/qa/thread/5368200/4chan-happenings-thread. The final post was No. 5368373, reading "that would be pretty funny".
/qa/ unlocked (kind of) April fools edition[edit | edit source]
On April 1, 2024, a thread was moved to /qa/ as part of 4chan's April fools event, with the last post in the thread reading ">its fucking real".[29]
/qa/ unlocked by Captain Gem[edit | edit source]
Main article: Great Cuckset
On April 14, 2025, a thread was posted showing a 'teen had successfully hacked 4cuck and reopened /qa/. A large header over every board that read "/QA/ RETURNS" with the caption "SOYJAK.PARTY WON #PACKWATCH" directed users to the reopened board. Multiple jannies had their information doxed, hiroyuki's admin permission was stolen, and 4chan slowed down until it crashed, leading to many new 'cuck immigrants going to the Sharty.
/qa/ deleted (The end)[edit | edit source]
On April 25, 2025, 4chan went back on after a 10 day outage following the Great Cuckset. As one of the changes the 4chan team did to their site was to fully remove /qa/ from the site, and not simply leaving it locked as they did the previous years. This can be seen as them getting revenge on soykind after the hacking and consequent period of it being inactive as consequence. The brief unlocking of it can be seen as the last hurrah of /qa/ before being deleted forever. /qa/ truly was the gemmiest board of them all. May it rest in peace.
In popular culture and Legacy[edit | edit source]

The deletion of /qa/ prompted a surge in melancholic songs made in tribute to the board, including End of Quay, Viva la Kwey and Another Day of Soy. Several poems have been written as well, such as Lament for the /qa/stanis. Additionally, Old Kwah Road retells the deletion of /qa/ in more heroic terms, and Cobman by David Thoughie makes reference to it.
> | The board revolved around soijaking eachother in jak duels and they used jaks like trips, and would challenge other well known jakers to see who would get jak'd off first (run out of soijaks). They eventually began posting an avalanche of troonjaks whenever someone would say something a troon would say, and then they raided lgbt by filling literally their entire board with nothing but jak duel threads. their board was shut down. The jak duel is so dangerous because there is no winner, only not-losers. The loser is whoever runs out of jaks first or who forgets a post in a mass reply. You have to reply to not only your opposition but also yourself, leading to jak duels becoming whoever could mass reply the fastest with a new soijak and with a full copy post of the board, from browser text to the list of boards at the bottom, with the end goal being to slide in perfect jak posts before your opponent could mass reply or reply so many times he ran out of jaks.

Soyjak.party has its own /qa/ board which is meant to be used for NAS and a lot of boards have been merged into it.[31]
