Etymology Nerd's content consists mainly of short-form videos about linguistics. Not real linguistics, though; his videos are the Reddit pop-soyence version of linguistics. In his videos, he talks with an obnoxious, fast, almost frantic voice, while waving his hand and making odd gestures.

He also hides political propaganda in his videos disguised as lessons about words or whatever. In the days before the 2024 United States presidential election, he made a video about how certain media terms regarding elections (mainly racing terms) justify "election denial." He almost certainly made this video expecting Kamala Harris to win, so when TRVMP won his own shit got thrown back in his face. In 2025, after the Epstein files showed Epstein calling people "goyim," he made videos about how "goy" isn't a slur o algo. In 2026, he made a video whining about the Iran war and how you're doing a heckin genocide if you don't let enemy combatants kill you back.
