Poll is a posting feature implemented on the Sharty in September of 2024, that allows users to conduct in-site surveys and vote in them. It is usually used in bait^{[>what lgbttroonpoopa would you goon your tbp to o algo]}. Votes in polls cannot be revoked.

Only whitelisted users can vote in polls created by other people, with users posting from non-whitelisted IPs getting an error message that says "Your IP adress currently does not meet the requirements to vote on polls" (or, if they are trying to post from VPN, "Your IP address has been flagged as a VPN. If this was a mistake, please appeal here.") when trying to vote, however, you can still create a poll and vote in it from a non-whitelisted IP (but not in any polls created by other users). This BTFOs VPN users, people with dynamic IPs and those who just haven't used site enough to get whitelisted.

All polls are stored on https://soyjak.st/poll.php?id= even after posts in which they appeared are deleted, with number after id= representing the number of the poll, which means that there are poll GETs (poll number 10000 for example) but nobody seems to care about it

The first poll on the Sharty was made in September 10, 2024 and it was in a thread asking "Who is this Soyjak" with image of confused Cobson attached. Voting closed later that day and the results are 22 votes for "Gemson" and 14 votes for "Coalson"

How to create a poll

A poll can be created by clicking on "Poll" button right of "Voice" in the post form's "Select" section, which opens a new section between "File" and "Options". Then, if two blank to-be-filled poll choices aren't enough, up to 28 more poll choices can be added by clicking "Add another choice" (the limit was previously 10 total poll choices), each ond having up to 25 symbols (including spaces), and if you want to, you can allow people to vote for multiple choices, hide results from other users until you choose to reveal them, or hide results until the expiration date (by selecting the "Multiple choice", "Hide results" and "Reveal results on expiration" during the post creation respectively) (you can't choose both "hide results" and "reveal results on expiration", it will make results public from the start). Optionally, you can set the expiration date in the "Expires in? (Optional)" field (for example 2 hours or 3 years). A file attachment is required for a post with a poll.
