On Feburary 27th 2026, Mustard would launch an improved[it just is, ok?] version of the SoyBooru UI, also adding forums. The update has just recently rolled out, and thus receptions are currently mixed, with some nusois and namefags alike expressing dislike for the new 'ru believing it is unnecessary and looks like a modern-day average vibecoded minimalistcore social media site, while others think it is neat with certain additions like new emojis.

Features[edit | edit source]

  • The Boorum, a forum
  • Emojis and the ability to react on posts with them
  • Overhauled visuals
  • More options in the text editor
  • Native profile pictures instead of Gravatar
  • Overall better infrastructure [it just is, ok?]
  • Notifications
  • Friendlier font formatting.
  • Anti-spam measures
The current homepage of the Nuuru.

Criticism[edit | edit source]

  • Some say it is too much like DA ‘COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORD. Apparently, they own the IP of not blinding you when you open the site.
  • Due to the controversial nature of blogposting on the Sharty, the addition of a forum to the 'ru has obviously been subject to controversy.
  • Some people argue that the site looks too much like most vibecoded sites nowadays and has lost it's SOVL due to this.
  • Some people say it's DAAAA KIWI.
  • Some people say it's DA SHROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM or SCHLOOOOOOOOOG.
  • Some even say it's DA FACEBOOOK.
  • It broke Flash.(Not surprising)
  • It has been made much easier to brap up comments sections/forums.
  • You can't register new accounts.🗝️ It was temporary.
  • Tags are fucked up.
  • Tags are no longer copy-pastable.
  • Looking up posts by their MD5 hash no longer works, effectively breaking the ability to link to specific posts with the boorusearch template on this very wiki.
  • Some Gravatar profile pictures were not carried over if the user did not log in on the day of the deployment, breaking thousands of profile pictures in the process.
  • Old profile descriptions were not carried over, so many farewell messages were erased.
  • The site introduced an unforgivable rate limit, even for simple tasks like browsing posts.
  • Sweeping changes caused confusion, like the changing of certain user colors (i.e. the trusted color is now green).
  • The Booru API was completely deprecated, breaking extensions like SPE that utilize it.
  • Old emojis were removed rather than being converted into legacy icons.
  • Old formatting was broken completely.
  • You can't view users' upvotes and that's le bad because it's harder to find specific posts you or someone else has updooted in the past.
