Soybot9000, also known as the RoboTwist, is a specially designed machine meant for automatically opening Soylent bottles.

History

The RoboTwister first rose to prominence in popular culture after a viral video posted to r/soylent by the user alejandroandraca (who later deleted his account). In it, he claims that his coworker uses the Robotwister "for those hard to open sqround [sic] bottles". The name of Soybot9000 comes from an YouTube repost of the video called "Soybot 9000 demonstration".

Impact

Soybot has been widely memed by the Internet as it feeds into the Soyboy stereotype that they are pathetic and weak to the point they need a robot to open their soylent bottles for them, which was not helped by the seemingly malnourished hand of the coworker in the video. In fact, Soylent bottles are actually very easy to open. The most popular meme is a MSpaint redrawing of the scene with the phrase >soibot, I need you. My strenght is waning. with the guy's hand looking even weaker and Soibot having a dildo for one of the arms. Said 'toss became iconic and heavily associated with the meme, with the quote being found in comment sections every time a soybot video or image is posted. Henry Scott's supposed arm reveal resembles the one of the guy in the video, drawing comparisons.

Other bottle openers

Another popular Soylent bottle opener has also been posted to r/soylent, this time a regular non-mechanical one, and it became mocked for pretty much the same reasons. The original poster even exclaimed that he hurt his hands several times trying to open the bottles, hence why he needed an opener. This version was also referenced by wojak Jewtuber MilleniaThinker in one of his video thumbnails.
