This site being a splinter is most likely a hoax

The few evidence of the site being a splinter shows several red flags, plus I've done some digging into the site and found proof that the site is not and was never a splinter:

• All the screenshots on the page have the same screen proportions. Judging by the font, whoever started the hoax is a Macfag.
• The site has been the Gru logo since 2018, before the sharty existed and the WHOIS was last updated in 2024, before the first mentions of the site on the sharty.
• On the only screenshot where the URL is visible, there is a search icon to the left instead of a padlock, which suggests the URL shown in the screenshot is not the actual URL of the page being shown. Most likely all the screenshots were made by inspect elementing the sharty.
• All the screenshots seem to show sharty-specific vichan extensions, and I doubt the sharty's vichan is open-source.
• The PPH and reply numbers on threads are abnormally high for a splinter, further suggesting all the screenshots were made by inspect elementing the sharty.

Feel free to gather more evidence or try to counter my claims. In my opinion, minions.party is actually just a domain some Despicable Me fan bought and was never a sharty splinter. GapeNewell (talk) 18:12, 10 May 2025 (EST)
