Why are we so afraid of splinter links now?

before the only stuff that wouldn't have a link were sites with 'p but now no splinters can have links at all. the site is hostile, but it's not nearly as bad as the thrembillionth pedo site, i don't see why we can't have any splinter links in the pages. well it looks like someone decided to move it and remove the link. but it doesn't matter in this case because the edit history isn't suppressed so people can just look there to get the URL if they really want to find it. i won't suppress the URL because it's not a pedo splinter afaik.
