Yippity dingle-doo is a popular redrawn Pepe subvariant originally posted to /r9k/.

History[edit | edit source]

Yippity dingle-doo was first spotted on an /r9k/ board on February 15 of 2015, which was during the PeePeePooPoo era of Pepe, where anons were complaining about their beloved frog being appropriated by normies, sure enough, it was a thread calling out the normalGODS. With the smiling, zany attitude and the nonsensical catchphrase, it's safe to assume that Yippity dingle-doo was satire of mainstream memes and represented what 4cuck users thought the normies were doing to Pepe (or maybe it was just some guy wanting to share his OC without any further meaning, who knows). He got posted in his own thread but received no attention,[2] only rising to prominence once being included a day later in a thread detailing a chart about the evolution of Pepe.[3] Since nobody knew who he was, he gained a significant amount of attention in the thread, and it's safe to assume that the OP of the chart was either the creator of Yippity dingle-doo wanting to bring attention to his creation or a random by-standard who saw the meme and assumed it was a well-estabilished variant. Either way, some were calling it a forced meme while others went along with the joke and pretended they knew who he was, making Yippity dingle-doo popular during 2015.
