This article showcases lists of tools an average 'teen can use to archive gems because nothing on the internet is permanent, and less so on the Sharty!

You can submit a URL to these sites and view it later:

  • Megalodon - Site is in Japanese. Archives in seconds.🗝️ Allows 60 daily archives which are related to IP so if you have a VPN or Tor circuit you can just change and keep archiving, and can archive audio and video (you'll have to archive the audio and video links doe due to how vichan works). It is possible to request removals of archives, however it removes URLs instead of entire sites. Can't properly archive long threads, specifically images on later replies. Was buckbroken due to Cloudflare during the outage.

  • archive.today/archive.is/archive.ph - One of the best archival sites that has been up since 2012.[1] Only removes 'p🗝️ and pirated content🔒. Moderately slow. May arbitrarily stop working due to a limit, come back in a couple hours when it starts doing that. Currently buckbroken by Cloudflare. Currently getting investigated by the FBI.[2] Also note that it sends your IP address to the site you're archiving[3]
  • Ghost Archive - Can make high-fidelity JS archives.[a]
  • Internet Archive / files section of archive.org- DO NOT USE.[b] Works best for non-soysphere websites due to ability to archive outgoing links and when used in conjection with other archivers.
  • Soychiver - A soyjak.party thread archiver, does not archive images. This is the fastest archiver on this list.
  • FreezePage - Has no size limit, archives last 3 days unless you browse them within that time limit. 20mb storage limit. Accounts give you more storage for archiving, the subscription allows the archives to last forever. Can be rearchived on archive.today.
  • PreserveTube - For archiving 'Tube videos.

  • https://pomf2.lain.la/ - 1 gigabyte upload limit
  • https://buzzheavier.com/ Unlimited storage space, but files will be deleted in 30 days unless active. Zero data retention policy meaning that they don't track you and pretty fast download and upload speed.
  • https://gofile.io/ Unlimited storage space and 30 day retention policy but (i think) they log ip's
  • https://bzzhr.co/ - Buzzheavier.com proxy (If your retarded fag Internet service provider blocks the main website)
  • https://fuckingfast.net/ Buzzheavier.com proxy (If your retarded fag Internet service provider blocks the main website)
  • https://pixeldrain.com/ Basically the equivalent of a splinter to gofile and buzzheavier, 120 upload retention limit, 20 gig max file and it probably logs your ip.
  • https://send.now/ Guest users can only upload 25 files at a time up to 100 gigs, also logs your ip
  • https://archive.org/ Unlimited storage and files are not deleted over time, Files are rarely deleted (Excluding Wayback Machine) because of there bad moderation but that may change (Also there company is ran by cucks)

Here is a list of extensions you can use to help make archiving easier:

Local Archiving[edit | edit source]

Truly nothing on the internet is permanent, not even archive sites. That's why it's important to save stuff (e.g. Images, Videos, and HTMLs) to your local hard drive and make backups.

Web Pages[edit | edit source]

  • "Ctrl+S" on your Browser - Works fine on Vichan, however may break if the page is too large.
  • On Firefox (and derivatives like LibreWolf), "Ctrl+S" and then choose "Web Page, complete". This stores pictures and stylesheets in a subfolder.
  • Chrome and Edge and Internet Explorer [doesn't support webp, no images] also let you save pages in a single file as MHTML.
  • Singlefile extension [4] - Good overall, Saves the page as you see it in one .html file, Saves full images if you open them. Good to also use Gopher Link, as you can go onto /example/catalog.html and can extract all the links in there and you can copy paste them all into singlefile and save them all manually. [5]
  • On mobile, don't use Samsung Internet to save pages! They are stored in a way they can only be accessed from inside the app! You can't copy the files to a different device without extreme measures like rooting and bootloader unlocking.
  • Firefox Mobile lacks the ability to save pages at all. The best you can do is print as PDF, and the PDFs look crap. Chrome mobile lets you save as MHTML in the download folder, which is the most decent option so far for mobile users.
  • On Samsung phones, you can take a screenshot and hold down the down arrow that pops up at the bottom to take a long screenshot of any Android app, including soyjak.st

  • ArchiveBox allows you to run your own website archiver locally (can also apparently import from browser bookmarks or history).
  • yt-dlp - Download videos from YouTube and many other sites.
    • It is recommended that you download videos as AV1/VP9+Opus instead of H.264+AAC as the former is higher quality
    • ytdlp.online- there is now website version (albeit with slower download speeds very sadly) in case you are a mobileCHAD or too clueless and lazy to get the app working
  • gallery-dl - For mass downloading image galleries and collections.
  • DiscordChatExporter - Discord chat dataminer
  • tumblr-utils - scrape tumblr blogs including login-only ones
  • bulk-downloader-for-reddit - reddit bulk downloader, can fetch all posts for a particular user
  • Hayden - Newgen imageboard archiving software.
  • Httrack - Can create a mirror of an entire website. Doesn't work on the Sharty though. Used by Angeleno for his snapshots.

Lost Archives[edit | edit source]

There have been four incidents where the Sharty lost past archives:

  • On June 5, 2023, the Log Warehouse shut down, causing a major loss of images from November 2022 to June 2023. While the images were lost, the textual content were archived and are available as a torrent or on archive.soyjak.st.
  • In November 2023, another Sharty archive—hosted by the Shiny—shut down. This time no archive was made, and so threads from Autumn 2023 were lost.
  • On December 13, 2023, the Sharty was excluded from the Wayback Machine after being snitched on, resulting in the loss of over 10,000 archives, mostly from the early days of the site. These archives were only stored on the Wayback Machine and are now permanently lost. However it must be stated some of these wayback archives were saved thanks to yandex web cache [6]
  • On October 2025, the new sharty domains, soyjak.st and soyjakwiki.org, were excluded from the Wayback Machine again resulting in over 10,000 archives being lost, mostly archives of the earliest posts on many boards that weren't archived on archive.today or other services.

This is why it's important to ‘chive pages via multiple means; otherwise, if an archive site suddenly disappears or deletes our pages like the Log Warehouse or Wayback did, your thread doesn't become lost media.

    Do you preserve archivers' privacy? E.g. not disclose the source IP address?
    Yes. But take in mind that when you archive a page, your IP is being sent to the the website you archive as though you are using a proxy (in X-Forwarded-For header). This feature allows websites (e.g shops or the sites with weather forecast) target your region, not mine.
