MKUltra was an experiment done by the CIA to see if they could control the human psyche, whether or not they succeeded in actually controlling people hasn't been openly confirmed.

Experiments ranged from giving leaf people a shit-ton of LSD to hypothesizing normal people.

Accidental reveal

Though the destruction of all documents had been ordered, they forgot to destroy some 20,000 in some accounting building. These documents would later be revealed in a court case against the CIA.
