Raisin

A raisin is a dried grape. They are produced in many regions of the world and can be eaten raw, used in cooking, baking and brewing.
How a Raisin is made[edit | edit source]

Raisins come from not just any type of grape. The Thompson Seedless Grape is the most common variety used for making raisins, particularly in the United States. Thanks to the grape having no seeds it is perfect for drying down into a wrinkly treat. However, other grape varieties like Muscat, Sultan, and Black Corinth are also used. Muscat and Sultan grapes are grown more in regions like Australia.

The Process for Thompson Seedless Grapes[edit | edit source]
The Thompson Grapes are grown in warm, dry climates, like California. The hot summers make it ideal for the drying. Grapes are harvested when they reach peak sweetness. Workers carefully pick the grapes, from there the grapes begin their transformation. The most iconic and ancient methods of grape drying is sun drying, freshly picked grapes are laid out on kraft paper trays, kind of like large brown paper sheets. The sun does the heavy lifting from here, after one or two weeks all of the moisture is removed from the grapes by the heat. There must always be a delicate balance, too much sun, and they get BLACKED, not enough and they will spoil too fast. Machine drying is the standard process for making raisins nowadays.
On the Sharty[edit | edit source]

If you type the word "shit" on the sharty, the filter automatically filters the word to "raisin." A funny play on how raisins look like poop. The filter was originally added as a part of a Christmas event on the Sharty, however it has survived the test of time and stayed for much longer than expected. Nusoicacas hate this filter, even though it is a gem and has helped to bring the golden age of the Sharty into fruition. (even though they're right because actual raisins are very gemmy and tasty and don't deserve to e disrespected like that) These filters have also been added into several Sharty video game servers, like Soycraft. Abbreviations such as "SNCA" also filter into "RNCA", as they rightfully should. The 12000000 GET got rid of the shit wordfilter, later on however it was replaced to filter poop into raisin instead.
