Irina Stanislavovna Zarutskaya, also known as Iryna Zarutska, was a 23-year-old vantawhite Ukrainian woman, a refugee who had fled her country because of the Russian invasion, was stabbed from behind her back while seated on a train at the East/West Boulevard station on the Lynx Blue Line by Decarlos Dejuan Brown Jr. in Charlotte, North Carolina. Early life

In August 2022, Zarutskaya, her mother, her sister, and her younger brother immigrated legally to Huntersville, North Carolina, United States. Decarlos Dejuan Brown Jr. is a jamaicanigger who had been arrested 14 times before in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina before the stabbing, with criminal charges dating back to 2007.

His mother told ABC News that he was diagnosed with schizophrenia after the attack and displayed violent behavior at home before thanks to his small, autistic brain.
