What's the point of having this as a separate template from coal[edit source]
If a page is bad enough to warrant having this, while also having it known ahead of time that the page is unlikely to turn into a good or at least passable article, then why bother having it on the wiki?
- If the page can be forseeably improved then the base Coal template exists
- Pages that don't have potential to improve past a coal-equivalent quality are probably not long for this wiki anyways and should either be merged into articles they'd be suited as sections of, or just entirely cut due to not warranting a page.
- If it's on a complete page (no more info left to add, or it already explains the subject well enough to not be considered a stub) then no template is necessary.
- If the article's subject is then there's an entire namespace for that.
This template's usecase is bad and redundant and it can be done without. GauntletThrown (clittyleakage zone) 23:33, 16 May 2026 (UTC)
- I agree, though it could be made into a decorative template placed on forgotten articles and automatically updated by a bot. 〜 MarketPliers (leak here) 23:40, 16 May 2026 (UTC)

- @Fenriris What are your thoughts on this? Do you think this is something you would be able to implement into SoycyclopediaBot? 〜 MarketPliers (leak here) 12:58, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
Doesn't sound like a good idea[edit source]
A page not being edited for a while doesn't mean it's dusty. It could just be a high-quality page with nothing further to add, or a disambiguation, or a gimmick page that's complete, or any other of the 100 reasons not to edit a page. Cobblestone (talk) 12:31, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- >high-quality page with nothing further to add
Most high-quality pages are regularly updated doebeit, though I can foresee that this may bring about people making small, needless changes just to remove the template.
>disambiguation
Can just be ignored by the bot
>gimmick page that's complete
Then we might as well add back {{Perfect}} if editing a page is to be discouraged. 〜 MarketPliers (leak here) 15:31, 18 May 2026 (UTC)- Indeed, I can add all sorts of constraints to it for whatever you want to not add to disambiguation, certin categories, etc. I could even add an way where if you add an comment with certin text, it will skip over touching that Fenriris 🐺 17:00, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- you can run it if you want, but i feel like it would add dust to more pages than you think Cobblestone (talk) 01:42, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
- True, I feel like we should get more of an consensus from everybaldi else in this case before we do anything more for this. Ill restore the original mark for deletion Fenriris 🐺 01:56, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
Since these types of changes tend to rile people up as has done in the past we need to hear from the rest of the soymunnity. I suggest a site notice and the poll below. 〜 MarketPliers (leak here) 02:09, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
