Okay. Basically, I stole ED's features system and modified it when recreating the front page. The front page automatically checks for a page based on the current month, day, and year. Like this Featured_Gem:Main_Page/Featured_Gem/May_8,_2025. Don't let the fact that it is in its own namespace (Featured_Gem:) confuse you, that's just to exclude it from Random page (or at least quote tried to).

<explanation space

After that it transcludes the page it finds on the main page. If it doesn't find a page at that date it checks for up to two days before. If it still doesn't find something, I modified it so that it will instead use Featured Gem:Main Page/Featured Gem/Static. This is just a fallback so I don't recommend modifying it instead of actually scheduling stuff.

Step by step instructions:

• Go to Main Page/Featured_Gem
• Go to the FIRST date of the scheduled gem. Syntax is Featured Gem:Main Page/Featured Gem/MONTH DAY, YEAR
• Insert the Template:Featured template and fill in the sections (Name, image, feature text, and quote at the bottom) with the article you want to feature, only feature high-quality articles. Just look how the old features are done for this. Featured Gem:Main Page/Featured Gem/May 15, 2025
• We're running on a weekly schedule to save time and effort. Go to the next 6 days and TRANSCLUDE (don't copy paste) the first page into the rest of the week (saves precious bytes and if you want to edit the feature you won't have to edit it 7 times). Again look at how I did the old features if you're confused. Featured Gem:Main Page/Featured Gem/May 21, 2025
• Finally, you need to PROTECT the feature: to make protection easier, we created Main Page/Featured Gem/Protection Index where we basically have a page for each month of each year with every single day transcluded and it's cascade protected. If you're not aryan enough to know what cascade protection is, it means that page will protect all templates present on that page including templates within templates within templates. This is so that some autoconfirmed nigger doesn't sneak 'p on the front page if he somehow gets approver. But I'll handle all of this for you right now so you won't have to worry about it. Just understand how it works. Also because it protects templates if you feature an article and the feature's text you picked has a template, like, say, Template:Colortext on the article. That template will be admin-protected, so you might want to remove templates from feature text.

Dailyjak is identical but easier since you only feature an image instead of a feature template. You can ignore this because I scheduled like 500 of them in advance.
