The SoyBooru Anniversary, also known as SoyBooru Week, was an event celebrating the fifth anniversary of SoyBooru. The event runs for seven days, from August 3, 2026, to August 9, 2026. Each day features new contests and activities.

This event was similar to previous Soyanniversary events, this time catered specifically to the Booru. This was a first for the Booru in general, as only the Sharty has had multi-day prolonged events with contests dedicated to the community. As of the latest update to this article, three contests have been held with prizes in the form of Boorubux, a recently-added form of currency on the Booru that allows users to purchase a litany of items (and lose it all like a victim by gambling it away in roulette); more contests and events have been planned for the next couple of days.

Events

After being promoted to global admin by Mustard, the current administrator and developer of SoyBooru, Mist announced "SOYBOORU WEEK" on August 3, 2026, to celebrate SoyBooru's fifth anniversary. Mist created a roadmap for the activities to be held during the event, and this section of the article will follow the roadmap's events respectively.

DAY 1: SoyBooru Votes, Birthday Hat Mini-Contest

Mist held three community votes on the first day. These were: a successful vote to re-promote Warrior-Z to administrator, reinstating Warrior-Z as admin after his demotion; an unsuccessful vote to give all staff members (including approvers) a daily salary of 20 boorubux, and a successful vote to promote long-time moderator jersey to administrator.

Both promotion votes passed with about 75% of users voting YES, however, the dalit-salary vote would see considerable opposition against the notion of paying jannies. During the Warrior-Z re-promotion vote, users could submit OC either in support of or opposition to his promotion; said users would have their vote tripled in the vote count.

A contest to design a better Booru birthday hat was also held. The winner of the contest was Rot, who received a contest winner role and a grant of 100 boorubux.

Mist also re-promoted Andy to forum moderator without a vote, likely because Andy and Mist have been in a gay relationship since Soycraft 2 Andy and Mist regularly work together on events. They both host Soycrafts and Soylent: SOURCE game nights together.

The first-ever SoyBooru marriage was held on the first day, thanks to Mist using admin powers to give them free money. lolkek, former admin back in the Soybooru stone ages, was wonderfully wed to recently promoted administrator jersey. Everybody was given an RSVP in the form of a site-wide notification that many users found issue with, most likely because it was a same-sex lesbian marriage^{[it just is, ok?snopes?it just is, ok?how???whatbut... why?]}
. It is unknown whether lolkek and jersey consummated their marriage as of the writing of this article^{[You WILL find a source that proves this.]}.

DAY 2: SoyBooru Hat Contest, SoyBooru Boorum Banner Contest

On the second day, Mist started two contests that will run until Friday. Users can submit hats for their profile pictures and banners for the Boorum, receiving 30 boorubux for each accepted hat and 50 boorubux for each accepted banner. Rewards are capped at five accepted hats and three accepted banners per user.

It was also Warrior-Z's birthday.

Zonky also hosted a Trendy Tuesday with the theme "Doctos". As per Trendy Tuesday competition periods, the winner will be decided on the next day, or on the third day in this event's timeline.

DAY 3: Opening of THE COUNCIL OF /QA/

On August 5, 2026, Mist announced the opening of "The Council of /qa/", a system inspired by the Booru parliament of the past. There were several representatives selected, each representative belonged to a fandom or community of the Booru.

If more than 10 of the 20 parliament members agree to add a feature, it is to be added unless veto'd by Mist. Exceptional suggestions also have a possibility of instantly being accepted.

Day 3: Approver mortal rape combat death murder event

On the same day of August 5, 2026, Mist would also host an approver-only edition of the "Soyvil Games" in which all 35 approvers would be pitted against each other to fight to the death.The winner of the death murder event would get promoted to mod. The winner of the event was Rot. The system which generated the death game took the messages, personality, activity and many other traits and generated responces and fights based off them.

DAY 4: Soybooru Minigames, Jersey's Demotion

For most of the day the entirety of the official soysphere was down besides the IRC.

The only notable happening on the fourth day were the Soybooru Minigames, which started at 6PM UTC. Dove had also previously hosted some rounds of Gartic Phone before the main event had started, several games of Skribbl.io were played with custom soybooru relevant words, the winners of each game received a generous 50 boorubux reward, some Gartic Phone games were also played and a 500 piece puzzle was pieced together by several users at the end of the day. Users who solved the puzzle were given 40 boorubux each.

Later in the day Soybooru administrator jersey, feeling as he had been cucked by Peter attempted to give himself more permissions. He promoted funkydealer and Pinacoaladalover to moderator without asking Peter directly first. Funkydealer was demoted, but his role was given back by jersey. Eventually he took Peter's role and user management permissions, demoted Warrior-Z back to global moderator and the state of the booru had been quite destabilized. Eventually jersey realized his mistake and gave Peter his permissions back, he was demoted to global moderator but later resigned from any staff positions. Warrior-Z was repromoted to global administrator and the forum moved on.

DAY 5: Anarchy and Drawpile

A new category, Anarchy was added by Peter. Forum rules 1 and 2 did not apply and you could spam on the board as much as you wanted. It quickly managed to garner thousands of posts and replies, staff could also do anything they wanted to the threads in Anarchy, and also move some new threads they found unfavorable in General to Anarchy.
