/leftysoy/ was a commiepedotroon focused board on the Sharty. It existed from December 11, 2024 to December 27, 2024 during the Board Advent and was a dead nigger throughout its entire existence.[1] It originally was for left-handed 'jaks before being coopted.
Prelude[edit | edit source]
Before the board had been created some literal who schlog namefag had an idea for a leftist board on the sharty. Many leftists started pushing for their own board, they cited that /pol/ had no serious discussion of literally anything especially leftist politics. After some pushing and talking to Mustard, it was created.
Culture and Users[edit | edit source]
For the short timeframe of the board’s life it had developed a very unique culture compared to the rest of the site. Most of the posts were somewhat high effort with almost every post either being a paragraph or attempting to have a serious conversation about theory with books[it just is, ok?], or they just posted jaks <like everyone else you absolute commie retard. The users varied there were anarchists, communists, conservative socialists, Saddam supporters, and the once in a while clittycel. Anyone that was an Elite or capitalist was called a “bourgeoisiecuck” and any nazi or right-winger was called a “clittycel”. Users of the board were also called “Comrade”.
/leftysoy/ Conflict[edit | edit source]
From the beginning of /leftysoy/ many people were angered by it just for existing. From day 1 there was multiple leaky jannies that would wipe the board, mustard made the description for the board originally “left-handed soyjaks”. This then supposedly gave them the excuse to wipe out one of the only active boards from Board Advent other then /dem/. Most regular posters had given up and the ones that hadn’t would have to post when jannies were sleeping to have actual discussions, one of the only jannies that supported /leftysoy/ was mist. Even then /pol/tards and cobsonTALKS were still attacking the board.
Decline and Attempted Revival[edit | edit source]
After the jannies left the board alone it had some time to prosper but by then the damage had already been done. Most regulars had left by then. One of the few jannies that supported /leftysoy/ then rebranded the board and changed the description to “leftist discussion” and became a namefag pretending to be Vladimir Lenin. The janny tried to revive the board by multiple methods. They banned many ips, and gave users a way to do self-moderation by voting on posts that should be deleted, if the post received 5 votes it would be deleted (this was barely used doe). Lenin also started a program to give out janny to 3 active users of the board but that was given up upon after realizing every active user had left.

The last 3 days of the board were completely dead. Only 2 users were trying to keep it alive to the end of Board Advent but it was all in vain. Eventually CobsonTALKS wiped the already dead board and then Mustard pulled the plug.
