Woke 2 (sometimes Woke 2.0, originally Dark Woke[1]) is an online social movement that aims to make left-wing ideas more appealing to the edgelord youth by forgoing un-cool behaviors like virtue signalling and moralfagging (retroactively called Woke 1) in favor of saying things like "retard" and "faggot" (but never "nigger" or "tranny" unless they can "reclaim" it, even then some of them will make useless nigger "discourse" about it like pooners can't say tranny or however the neoclitty dilates), ✨ wokely. ✨ However, since their actual political views are the same, this results in utterly bizarre interactions like "Lilith 🏳️⚧️🇵🇸🌹(MINORS DNI)" going around calling people mindraped goyslaves.
Despite the common socialist adage that "the culture war is a distraction from the class war", Woke 2 exists solely to win the culture war, or really, to win internet shitflinging duels against rightoids. Furthermore, its scope is permanently limited to this because Woke 2-ists(everyphono says this) are indistinguishable from school shooter überchuds in the eyes of any normie.
History

Before Woke 2/Dark Woke existed, there was a similar movement called "dirtbag left", often associated with podcasts like Chapo Trap House, Cum Town, Red Scare [not anymore o algo], etc.
The term 'Dark woke' itself comes from the meme 'Dark Brandon', which is an oppositefagged version of the far right meme 'Dark MAGA'.
In soy culture
[edit | edit source]Online leftists are known to steal far-right memes (usually 1-2 years after it becomes a dead meme among its original posters) to appear hip, and Sharty culture has not been spared from this. Funnily enough, these same people like to downplay the Soysphere's cultural relevance. Examples include but are not limited to:
