C418

C418 (Real name: Daniel Rosenfield) is a German producer and electronic musician who is best known for creating Minecraft's OST. His work is widely venerated by normies and 'teens alike (much like 'craft itself), often being described as having a nostalgic and mellow sound. He is also an ADHDfag and potentially holds communist ideals since his Russian parents worked within the Soviet Union before emigrating to East Germany.
Daniel now resides in Austin, Texas, USA with his wife or something[1]. He still creates original music for both his own personal projects and videogames alike. These video games include Cookie Clicker🗝️ in 2021 and some cozy troonslop game called Wanderstop in 2025.
Relation to Minecraft
[edit | edit source]Collaboration with Notch
[edit | edit source]The year is 2009 and '418 is trying to figure his way around Ableton Live. He begins uploading his projects to an IRC, dialoguing with other producers and developers. Shortly, he begins speaking with somephono who is apparently developing a sandbox-style video game where you place and destroy blocks. This 'phono says he needs help with sound effects and even music for the project. Since the two 'phonos already shared similair creative ambitions, the two NEETs decide to combine forces and create something truly revolutionary: The Minecraft Original Soundtrack.
'418 and Notch happily worked with eachother until (((some))) niggers noticed the gemerald that the two had on their hands. The niggers in question were a corporation called Microsoft. They proposed the business deal to legally own the Minecraft IP in exchange for 6 bajillion dollars and a half-eaten burrito. Notch, being the obese greedy little fuck he is, accepted the offer with no questions asked cementing Micoalsoft's ownership of the Minecraft IP and the Mojang company. While Notch was somewhere in Los Angeles sipping a tropical drink under a palm tree, poor '418 was duelling with Microsoft over the rights to the music HE FUCKING MADE since the greedy fucks at 'soft wanted full ownership of the Soundtrack too. After many disagreements and stalled negotiations, C418 fvcking WQN and kept ownership of the music. He subsequently released the albums Volume Beta and Volume Alpha independently.
Post-Microsoft deal
[edit | edit source]Following the sale, C418 walked away from was 'nished from working on Minecraft.
It was incredibly obvious that Microsoft held a massive hate boner for Daniel, a hate boner that never really faded or softened as time went on. Naturally, 'soft began hiring new musicians for the game's soundtrack and sound design. By far the most infamous example being a tranny called Lena Raine
The original soundtrack wasn't removed completely, rather it was gradually drowned out overtime with new songs. As you could imagine, hearing the classic gemmy compositions amidst the modern brim is an incredibly jarring experience.
