Chud (name)

Chud is (usually) the default username on soyjak.party. Anonymity is mandatory on all boards, with very few exceptions.

On /caca/, Chud is replaced with Baby.
On /dsp/, Chud is replaced with Jasper, which is Phil's cat's name.
On /raid/, Chud is replaced with Anonymous. This is done to more effectively falseflag as 4cuck to offsiters, luring attention away from the snarky snappy.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The word "Chud" is an acronym for "Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dweller", which comes from the 1984 bone-chilling, character-development driven, cheap jumpscare-free, emotionally-draining, genre-defining slow-burn science fiction horror movie C.H.U.D. and was popularized as a pejorative against far-right individuals and incels, by the anarchist podcast "Crapo Brap House".

The word was popularized on 4chan to make fun of far-right users and incels, along with Chudjak. As the term became more frequently used, its meaning expanded to include the collective hive mind of schizos and soyposters on the 'cuck, including self-inserting, so now pretty much anyone can be called a Chud.

For the first week of the Party (September 20-27 2020), the default name was Anonymous, the vichan default, until Soot changed it to Chud on the 27th. The site had a little over 2000 total posts at the time.

On September 19, 2022, forced anonymity was enabled sitewide, but was later removed from all boards except /soy/. A day later, on the second anniversary of the site's launch, Chud was changed to 🎉 2 years! 🎂. On November 2, Chud was changed to 🪦 RIP /QA/ 🪦 to remember the 1 year anniversary of the death of /qa/.

On August 13, 2023 (a day before the Soypocalypse) Doll added Soyjak as a name option. Cobson and Feraljak were later added as well, but Chud was still the default and most common name choice until the rest of the name choice options were removed.

Since February 2025, the default name on /soy/ has been updated to be an array of many known variants, but Chud is still common.
