A soyteen (or an attentionwhoring mod) beating the nameroll.[1]

Namerolls are nicknames that are randomly given to anyone making a post and replying to it on soyjak.party's /soy/ board. They replaced the previous system of "Chud" being the only default nickname in May 2025. Some soyteens believe that it might be sentient.

Namerolls change with every post an individual makes, meaning you don't keep the name the nameroll gives you, thus preserving anonymity. Thoughever, when variant-based names were first introduced they were fixed, so some users that rolled variants they didn't like weren't happy as they were initially stuck with it.

Namerolls were changed on January 12, 2026 to be far more rare, with most names becoming "Chud" again.[2]

On /soy/, there are currently 126 possible namerolls, 125 if you don't count "anonymous". Most of these are soyjak variants (IAS and NAS).

Some of these namerolls get a special wordfilter or property that will add some additional text to the end of your sentence even if you only post an image and no text. Adding an >arrow prevents this effect.

  • Amerimutt adds "or something" to the end of your sentence. or something
  • Award adds "award" to the end of your sentence. award[15]
  • Colorjak adds rainbow text to your name and disables flags and IDs.
  • Fingerboy automatically supersages the thread.
  • Gigachad adds ", how could you tell?" to the end of your sentence, how could you tell?[16]
  • Hunky Twink Sex Machine adds " fuggen jerdee" to the end of your sentence. fuggen jerdee
  • Meximutt adds "o algo" to the end of your sentence. o algo
  • Nojak adds "and oreos" to the end of your sentence. and oreos[17]
  • Thougher adds "though" to the end of your sentence. though

Using these special namerolls outside of /soy/ still carry over the special properties.

The Colorjak nameroll has a strange behavior in threads with IDs enabled, causing the ID of the poster to be hidden. It also hides your flag on boards where they are enabled.

On the DNB board /yyyyyyy/, every nameroll is an anagram of Soyjak.

On /pol/, every nameroll is either "Chud" or "Scob"

Halloween namerolls[edit | edit source]

Halloween namerolls were added on October 29th, 2025 and were removed on November 1st, 2025.[20] Your post would either bump or supersage the thread depending on the nameroll you got. Candy namerolls/Good namerolls (ex: Oreos, Wizard) would bump the thread whereas bad namerolls (ex: Boogeyman, Demon) would supersage the thread. The namerolls that were discovered are:

Renaming[edit | edit source]

Renaming is the practice of immediately deleting your post because you rolled Alicia (or in some instances Amerimutt / Meximutt) and resending it in hopes that no other ‘teens caught your original message. This is usually done when an effort post/serious rebuttal is made, and an Alicia Nameroll would severely detract from the point the poster is trying to get across. im trans btw

An alternative to this is to preemptively put an arrow at the end of your post and attach a 'jak so that you don't look like that.
