Left 4 Dead 2

Left 4 Dead and its sequel Left 4 Dead 2 are multiplayer first-person zombie shooter games made by Valve. L4D2 is the more popular game due to it having more stuff, but L4D1 is still quite popular amongst its community. L4D2 is one of the many games that we play on the Sharty's Gamenights. A mod is currently in production which replaces most of the infected in the game with soyjaks and other sharty-related media.
Left 4 Soy 2 (Server)[edit | edit source]
Left 4 Soy 2 is the official Left 4 Dead 2 server of the Sharty. Left 4 Soy 2 has custom modifications which allow up to 16 people to play at the same time for a truly chaotic game. Players can choose which team they want to be on before each match which can sometimes cause unbalanced games, unless the pros decided to switch teams to even things out. Players can also choose which survivor from either game they prefer to play as. The map rotation goes by the campaigns seen in the base game's campaign selection unless players decided to yell at the admin enough to change it.

Guide[edit | edit source]
Here's a quick guide as to how to effectively play the game. To learn more, you can watch some autist's video about any given subject in the game. There's a plethora of them to choose from on Jewtube.
Survivors[edit | edit source]
As a survivor you want to do your best to stay close to your team. Running ahead may be crucial especially if there's no hope in getting your team up, but most of the time you're going to be relying on your team to keep you alive. So be sure to pay them back by watching over them whenever they get boomed on, are healing, are low on health, etc.
Special Infected[edit | edit source]
The main rule of playing as a Special Infected is to wait before doing anything. Survivors can easily gun you down no matter what infected you spawn as. You should wait until they're distracted with a horde, a tank, a witch, your own team, or best-case scenario all of those things at once. You can pick off survivors who are wandering by themselves and create a perfect opportunity for your team to capitalize on the chaos or wait to attack all at once to deal heavy damage. Don't spawn right away as a Special Infected, because unless you're a Hunter, you'll make a lot of noise and alert survivors of your presence and even position. Be sure to avoid fire at all costs, as it's pretty much a death sentence, even for Tanks. Speaking of which, if you get the notification you'll be the Tank, spawn in as a special infected that way you have an extra bot-controlled special to help you. Tanks have the same speed as a green-health survivor, but get slowed down by getting shot, so you should focus on yellow-health or lower survivors and have your teammates get the ones you can't outrun.
Weapons[edit | edit source]
Pickups[edit | edit source]
- Molotov: Very useful. Always pick this up when you see it. Typically save it for when you're fighting against a Tank. Molotov's stack damage btw. Throwing one on top of another isn't a waste.
- Bile Bomb: Very useful. Always pick this up when you see it unless you want to keep a Molotov. Great for giving you time against a horde. It gives you 20 seconds of the horde being distracted. If you're boomed on be sure to actually hit something with the bile to get the common infected off of you or your team.
- Pipe Bomb: Not as useful as the others, but still pretty good. A quick distraction to clear up a horde. Can also be used to negate a Boomer's vomit.
- Medkit: Always pick this up
- Defib: Pick this up if you don't have a Medkit. Replace it when you get one.
- Pills: Good for when you're low health and want to save a Medkit. Good for the long-term.
- Adrenaline: Good for when you need to run fast during an event I.E Dead Center's Mall alarm event, Outrunning a Tank while at low health, etc. Usually save it for an event, but replace it with pills if you know you're not gonna need it.
Weapons[edit | edit source]
Be sure to go for headshots with anything that isn't a shotgun in order to get maximum damage on the infected (unless it's a Tank).
- Any Melee Weapon: Always pick this up they're far better than the pistols. Fire axe is the best melee pick it up when you see it.
- Desert Eagle: Alway pick this up it's far better than the pistols. You can choose whether or not you prefer it over the melees.
- SHIT Melee Weapons (Rake + Shovel): NEVER pick these up.
- AK47: The Best Overall Weapon. You should always pick this up if you can.
- Combat Shotgun: The Best Shotgun. Great against Witches and Tanks, but you do have to get fairly close to maximize its damage. Best paired with a Deagle for long range.
- Military Sniper: The Best Sniper. Great for fighting Specials but struggles with hordes a bit. Best paired up with a melee weapon. Middle Mouse Button to zoom in with the scope btw.
- Tactical Shotgun: Worse version of the Combat Shotgun. It's better than most Tier-2 guns though.
- SG 552: It's an M-16, but with a scope. Making it marginally better.
- Hunting Rifle. Military Rifle but worse. Still good against Specials but really struggles with hordes.
- SCAR: Good against specials, but again bad with hordes. Also fires burst shots which will greatly hurt your teammates if you're a retard and struggle with friendly fire.
- M-16: Kind of like an AK and a SCAR combined. It has good accuracy, but lower damage than an AK.
- Grenade Launcher. High Skill-Based Weapon. Leave it for someone who knows what they're doing or you'll risk hurting your own team more than the infected.
- Chrome Shotgun. The best Tier 1 Shotgun. Higher accuracy than the Pump Shotgun.
- Silenced SMG. The best Tier 1 SMG. It comes down to preference between this and the Chrome Shotgun.
- MP5: Similar to the SMG, but slightly worse.
- Uzi: SMG but worst. Pick this up only if there's no other option.
- Pump Shotgun: Same as the Uzi, but with the Shotguns. You can tell this one and the Chrome shotgun apart because the Chrome is white and the Pump is a nigger.
- M60: Shit gun. Gets outclasses by almost everything else. Never pick this up.
- Pistol/Pistols: Always find something to replace your pistol.
- AWP and Scout Sniper Rifles: SHIT weapons never pick them up.
