Soot’s elusive behavior and the cultish atmosphere around him has led many to speculate that Soot and Moot may not be two distinct individuals, but one and the same.

Soot’s similarities to Moot

• Moot’s final words on 4chan were “keep on shurking”. Soot’s final words on the ‘party were “keep on jakking”.
• Soot was typically professional in tone when posting on the ‘party. Some go as far as to claim that Soot’s rude comments in the later periods of his administration were the product of an impostor.
• Soot barely interacted with anyone in the Soysphere after selling the site. It is known that Moot joined Google after selling 4chan, but updates on him too over the years have been scarce and far in between. Since 2021, Moot hasn’t been heard from in any significant capacity. This shared behavior of silently slipping away could be more than just a coincidence.

Evidence against the theory

• Moot, with at least some accumulated wealth, would not be fazed by an offer of merely $2000 to buy soyjak.party if he were indeed Soot. It is possible that more money was exchanged privately, but Kuz was not desperate to own the site, and it can be assumed that he would not have spent more than $10,000 or so.
• Moot’s job at Google, lasting until April 13, 2021, would have been in conflict with the somewhat active administration during this time. However, Soot himself was allegedly busy attending university during his time as admin.
• Running advertisements on the site would not have made sense. The userbase of the ‘party even now is too small to generate meaningful revenue from Moot’s perspective, and it was tiny during Soot’s administration.
