compromise for gradingcaust[edit source]

@Fenriris this is an idea I had to bring back mineral gradings without their problems. This template has to be used in a properly written reception section and is decided by /soy/ polls (just read the template documentation for more info). If you don't like this because you don't want gradings back, then just delete it. Cobblestone (talk) 04:16, 19 July 2026 (UTC)

Werent you in favor not undoing the gradingcaust though? Whats with the sudden mind change with it? Sure, I dont really have an problem with it either, but if we are going to bring this back I think it should remain only to the most common minerals, no supernova or anything like that. I think thats one of the reasons those templates caused those issues. Having an poll each time to change the grading does seem an bit too much as well but I do like the idea of having to ask an janny first and the reason for that change. Keeping it to soyjaks only does sound good as well. I do want to hear what @User:MarketPliers and @User:GauntletThrown thrown has to say since they are the biggest supporters of the grading caust
i saw that you were trying to come up with a middle ground to satisfy the people who want the mineral ratings, and a lot of people still want them back, up to you and im fine either way, just an idea. Cobblestone (talk) 05:32, 19 July 2026 (UTC)
Yeah, I am. Thats why I undeleted those two templates. They can just use Soyjak_Wiki:Template/Quality_headers tbh, but this is not an bad idea as well. Sorry if I sounded consdening in anyway btw, dont meant it
you didn't it's fine, let's see what the other jannies think about this {{e|thumbsup}} Cobblestone (talk) 05:35, 19 July 2026 (UTC)
I don't mind this solution actually as it is more objectively worded than prior iterations. I just wish the template itself was smaller, maybe using the indicator field even? 〜 MarketPliers (talk) 09:38, 19 July 2026 (UTC)
Alright, I approve then Fenriris 🐺 11:01, 19 July 2026 (UTC)
ill make it smaller, i dont want it to be the indicator cause i dont want mineral templates at the very top of the page since it looks like the wiki is saying something is a [rating] then. it should be next to the reception section IMO Cobblestone (talk) 09:46, 19 July 2026 (UTC)

jannies[edit source]

please teach the retards who didnt read the docs and add it to the very top of the page, or make a Reception section that has no actual content Cobblestone (talk) 16:48, 19 July 2026 (UTC)

and also maybe protect the template so nusoigagas dont keep adding vantasingulachaoticequiblack as a grading Cobblestone (talk) 16:59, 19 July 2026 (UTC)
Best way to do that is undo the revison and tell them not to do that. Other users can do that too. Ill watch out for that. Also, locking it is an good idea Fenriris 🐺 17:11, 19 July 2026 (UTC)

now that's how you get em Cobblestone (talk) 17:10, 19 July 2026 (UTC)

Ugly as sin, takes up a whole section, and easily replaceable with the old grading templates. If you're that fucking scared of an edit war then jannie-lock it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AZFjhDRkftZaMlDEVayO (talkcontribs)

above me, is a -50 iq caveman who doesn't want to write a little despite using a wiki, and just wants to stim by swapping colored headers over and over with 0 neurons fired or contributions, and his "solution" is to "jannie-lock" (whatever that means) every single page on the wiki and killing it. actually, he doesn't even know how to sign a talkpage or even create a section header as you can see. I think the template shouldn't be applied to biography pages like Cobblestone. --Gem Gem (talk) 20:40, 19 July 2026 (UTC) 20:40, 19 July 2026 (UTC)

Marge, why is template used as header in the same template page when it should be for reception sections?[edit source]

Reception section requirement[edit source]

I agree with requiring a reception section for a gradingbox, but I think requiring a recap of how perception has changed over each year is a bit much. Soyfield (talk) 04:27, 20 July 2026 (UTC)

Custom ratings[edit source]

Should custom ratings be allowed, or would that just bring back a ton of problems that the Gradingcaust was meant to stop? Seth (talk) 23:00, 20 July 2026 (UTC)

No, it indeed would bring back the problems it was meant to stop Fenriris 🐺 23:03, 20 July 2026 (UTC)
That's what I figured, just wanted to make sure. Seth (talk) 23:05, 20 July 2026 (UTC)
