after unbanning the linking of splinters, the sncapedia lost a lot of it's purpose and mostly served as a space for non-quotecord approved perspective on controversial topics that were otherwise sanitized by the quotecord. Templates no longer work

I don't know what changed, but some mediawiki templates used in every page like {{reflist}} no longer work. I think this may have to do with the removal of Scribunto extension but I'm unsure. That and there is no need for more than one "administrator" bureaucrat, especially if there is concern about security (the role is still needed for wiki maintenance and other non-security related rights, hence why it was always delegated since Soot). I also had the idea of requiring 2FA for bureaucrats and enforcing stricter password requirements for accounts with higher-level permissions. Wikipedia has dumps with both all revisions and only current revisions of all pages, text only. Media downloads are completely separate from that. In addition to those we could also have a minimal option that's just the current revisions of mainspace pages. All text dumps would ideally be compressed, of course. I've experimented with MediaWiki before and if I remember correctly all media is stored in its own directory, so in theory it should be easy to archive that. I'm not sure exactly how much media is on here doe so zipping and distributing it could take a while and put a lot of strain on the server. i removed the part about disruptive splinters (the part about banning people for even mentioning them was insane) but the rest actually looked fine already

i also read your rules proposition and have some feedback

- i think the community rules part is overly complex and not really needed since the really bad splinters are pretty much just cp sites and fall under the current g1

- forbidding links for certain sites on the basis of poor moderation is quite a good idea

- the clarity of having the ban lengths listed is actually one of favorite parts of the current ruleset but i can also see your argument for removing them so maybe hiding them from regular users could be a good middleground

Discussion tools

Since anonymous editor verification is now using Cloudflare instead of the custom-built McCaptcha, do you think we could re-enable DiscussionTools? It made replying to people a lot easier without having to go through the source editor, and made talk pages work a lot more like regular forum discussions.

I would've added the extension to the Git repository myself, but IIRC the reason DiscussionTools was removed in the first place was because of an old bug/conflict with McCaptcha that caused it to behave incorrectly. Hi, don't know if you still check the wiki but wanted to follow up on a couple of things.

I wanted to ask if you still plan on announcing your plans for the wiki and restoring my admin rights or giving them to someone else? It has been a little while since you said you would do that shortly, so I just wanted to make sure it didn't slip past you. Or do you still want to keep those rights to yourself for now? Just would like to know what the current plan is thats all.

I also wanted to check in and make sure you're doing okay, since I haven't heard much of anything from you in a while. Are you just busy with IRL life atm?

Related to that, I'd like to work with you on improving communication between you, staff, and users across the sites. I've noticed that even regular users have had trouble figuring out how to reach you when they need something, and I think there's a way we could fix that for everyone while also reducing how many things you personally have to deal with. Some users have started feeling like they're being ignored or that their concerns don't matter, and I don't think that's necessarily your intention, so I'd like to see if we can come up with a better system for everyone. In fact, I have a proposal for how we could handle that which I'd like to post for everyone to discuss, if you're alright with it.

Also, I wanted to say thanks for letting me work as the wiki's developer, I really appreciate you for that. I've already added a few things to the repo, including the 2FA changes we talked about that you were on board with. I don't think you've had a chance to look over everything yet, but whenever you have the time, I'd appreciate it.

hi, just to let you know lolkek said that cloudflare caching on wiki is VERY strict. we can't overwrite files and most articles appear outdated for logged out users and I was able to confirm this. Hi, I know you said we could use this talk page for any other issues that come up, so just to let you know, I found out that neither Megalodon nor Ghost Archive are currently able to archive Booru pages. They both seem to be getting blocked by Cloudflare with an "Access denied" response when trying to access them. Could you look into this when you get the chance? I would've added the extension to the Git repository myself, but IIRC the reason DiscussionTools was removed in the first place was because of an old bug/conflict with McCaptcha that caused it to behave incorrectly. I'm not sure whether switching anonymous verification over to Cloudflare would've fixed that issue automatically, or if there are still changes we'd need to make before DiscussionTools can be safely re-enabled

Hi, just letting you know that my FlashRuffle plugin is ready to push up, and I fixed some things with my check user ip cloak patch. For some reason Special:Moderation was leaking out actual ips which was quite hidden. I am still working on adding back disucsison tools and hit counts. Just to let you know, I had to edit the Caddyfile a bit because a couple of extensions weren't working properly with rest.php. The requests were getting caught by the normal MediaWiki routing instead of being passed through correctly, so I added a separate route for rest.php. Everything seems to be working fine now, but I thought to let you know since I had to change the server config. DisucssionTools and HitCounters are also working nicely on my docker instance.
