What xhe said, I have protected almost every template on the site, and every time someone creates a new template I tend to protect it. Why? Because if someone vandalizes the template with goatse, page-breaking css, or CP, then every single article that contains that template has also been vandalized.

With the amount of CP spammers there are these days, I don't want to take any chances and allow one of them to upload 'p on a template and allow it to be shown on hundreds of pages. You are an autoconfirmed user, so you should have no trouble editing most templates, but some are fully protected so that only admins can touch them, usually because they appear on a huge amount of pages or require no changes. now if there's nothing scheduled for a while the main page will use a static feature from Dailyjak:Main Page/The Dailyjak/Static and Featured Gem:Main Page/Featured Gem/Static automatically. otheriwise it will look for up to two days ago to retrieve older scheduled features/dailyjaks. Greener pastures

Alas, after around 2 years of being the most prolific user on the ‘ki, the time has come for me to pack my bags and find somewhere else to settle.
