/a/ - Aryanime, formerly known as /a/ - Anime,[1] also called Tr/a/nime, is soyjak.party's anime board. Originally created by Soot as an equivalent to 4chan's anime board, it is one of the oldest boards on the site, being the only surviving non-main board of the original seven.[2] It is also the most active of the non-main boards (doe that isn't saying much). It has a fake mascot called Sakaki.

History[edit | edit source]

/a/ was created on September 20, 2020, but saw little activity in its early days. The board was barely moderated during the latter half of the Soot-era, and became highly susceptible to catalog wiping. The board was locked on November 11, 2022 as part of Kuz's Five Board Plan[3], which led to users of /a/ (in particular, a group of Neon Genesis Evangelion posters) attempting to raid /soy/ the same day. The board was restored by Kuz on November 13, just two days after it was initially locked,[4] a change likely prompted by the raid. The number of active users on the board increased after the incident, leading to a janny purportedly being appointed by Kuz to moderate it.

In 2023, due to Kuz's overall negligence toward the sharty, the board once again devolved into a cesspit of useless nigger wars. In the midst of the autist's fight, most of the old Soot-era threads on the board were lost, though a few were preserved. The Penis Color War spread to the board around this time, and led to When they Cry posters being attacked due to their posts including the characters Rika Furude and Bernkastel, also known as le BWC girl / le BBC girl.

The board was completely wiped by OMGSISA spammers on the morning of June 25, 2023, killing the few remaining Soot-era threads.[5] This, of course, led to another, even more useless nigger war breaking out on the board. The board was entirely wiped again on September 19 of the same year,[6] but after which the conflict seemed to slow and eventually dissipated.

The Five Board Plan was reinstated by Root (then known as NuAdmin) on May 17, 2024,[7] and /a/ was hidden for 17 days before being subsequently locked on June 3. After extreme backlash the Five Board Plan was changed to the less controversial Eight Board Plan two days later on June 5, with /a/ was unlocked but still hidden. It was later unhidden and added back to the top bar on June 20 when Froot returned.[8]

The Great Cuckset made thousands of 4cuck refugees to immigrate to the sharty, many of which found themselves on /a/. This increased the board's traffic massively, with it becoming second to /soy/ in PPH for a brief period in the following days. Most of the board's current namefags also emerged around this time.

On July 23, 2025, a thread reading "if this thread gets 1000 replies all anime (including troonhou) must be permanently banned"[9]. The thread reached its goal, with Limeade even participating in it. As such, the request was fulfilled and all anime was banned from /soy/ in an event called the Tranimassacre. /a/ was afterwards engulfed in the largest useless nigger war on the board to date. The board was practically unusable for about 3 days and very few threads survived. The jannies ultimately calmed the conflict and returned the board to its status quo. A new janny was appointed to moderate the board in the aftermath. J/a/nny (as xe is called by users of /a/) is a lazy faggot who refuses to clean up spam, albeit some users do like xer for not rulecucking too hard, and xe seems to be appreciative of this sentiment.[10]

The rule permanently banning anyone who posted anime on /soy/ ultimately became more lax as time went on, and most NAS posts including anime now get moved to /a/.

Board culture[edit | edit source]

As the name would imply, the board is centered around Japanese cartoons and manga. Discussion can vary around characters, franchises, art dumps etc. Predictably, the board mixes Sharty culture with regular tranime discussion, although most of the posts are still NAS. At a point, every time you browsed on the board, it would automatically play an audio of some anime opening song, until this feature got removed and replaced with a quote of a soyteen angry with how loud the music was after accidentally clicking the board[11]. Removed again by IRCGODS. The board has a variety of posters, and it typically features very long effortposts and serious discussions unlike most Sharty boards.

There is also a particular oldfag millenialGOD who loves making very long TRVTHNVKEs who based on xer posts has been watching anime for over 20 years.

^meds NOW this oldfaggot is 40 years old and all he does is supersage posts that he doesn't like (which is every post not made by him) while writing novellas clitty leaking about the most trivial garbage. he is the reason why people try to cattywipe the board every other week
