Janitors, also known as Joons or Jannies (most commonly referred to as "Tranny-Jannies" and "Tranitors" due to community's hatred for them and their annoyance) are a staff role and a race of fun-hating transgender untermensch generally charged with the lowly and unnecessary task of moderating 4chan and soyjak.party, as well as the name of a recently discovered brainworm parasite.

One can only wonder why such a menial, soul-degrading job is still staffed by humans with the advent of AI; the most commonly accepted theory is that the slavish, cucked loyalty of the Janitor is matched by no other creature, and hiring these social rejects is a massive decrease of spending, because he does it for free. Not all trannies are jannies, but all jannies are trannies.

Janitors often abuse their power in order to silence detractors. This happens on most websites (nothing ever happens ’weveralthoughalbeit). As of January 2023, soyjak.party has a vicious moderator who gives out permabans to anyone who disagrees with xer[it just is, ok?] due to an insanely fragile ego, presumably from having a tiny penis.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The moniker of Janny is also used for the moderation teams of other websites such as soyjak.party, namely imageboards. This is often accompanied by phrases such as: "Clean it up janny" or "fuck niggers fuck Jannies" to mock the tired, sexually frustrated individuals that moderate these websites.

The original design of the Janny comes from Mr. Morris, a character from the PBS show Arthur, whose occupation is a janitor. Funposters have a long and well established tradition of making OC mocking the janitors. Among soyposters, this tradition has resulted in several soyjak variants.

Biology[edit | edit source]

The large ears of the character also represent the ease at which the brain slugs enter the human mind.

As a species, Jannies are sluglike creatures that natively live in swampy areas. They are parasitic in nature, and they enter the brains of unsuspecting humans in order to puppet them. They then answer to a sort of hive mind, and seemingly are immediately added to the 4channel moderating team. The current reasons for this are unknown. Many debate if all jannies are "trannies" but it is common belief that is true for the 41% of the 4chan Janitors[1].

4chan jannies mostly dilate in /j/, as well as the 4chan IRC channel and Discord.

Moderators[edit | edit source]

On 4chan and soyjak.party, moderators are a higher rank of janny that are capable of applying bans, as opposed to the ban requests that regular janitors have access to. Moderators differ from janitors in that they are allowed to namefag to a certain extent.

On soyjak.st[edit | edit source]

Jannies and mods on soyjak.st have a 4-character random ID made up of hex characters (0-9, a-f) which is used to identify them.

Sharty jannies can be identified on IRC if xhey have the cloak "@ACD4286D.169A1F6A.883A10F8.IP", which is the janny IRC bouncer. According to Quote the IP of said cloak is "localhost", which means both the IRC server and janny bouncer are hosted on the same server.

Below is a list of janny codes often seen on the bans page in it's second incarnation.

  • c0e7 - Obsessed janny who bans you for the smallest shit.
  • 06eb - Dutch BVLL, is femjanny herself. Rarely seen on the bans list nowadays.
  • 89b1 - Mist's janny code, which is strange since Mist quit back in March 2025. «Mysteriously» vanished after it was discovered you can still see him meds
  • 9a0c - No explanation needed. Could also be Admin 6 himself as he censors from time to time. He is also known for being very harsh on bans.
  • 2ed1 - Quote's janny code. Used to simply display on the bans page as "quote" before mod codes were re-added. Might be automated.
  • 4c5a - Keyed mod who is literally Trumpflare 2.0. BTFOED racemixxers. BTFOED gooners. Sharty saver.
