An early soyposter facing discriminatory soyphobia on /v/.

The pre-Soyset era, also known as the 4cuck era, is the era of soyjaks, soyposting, and soy culture from the creation of the first soyjak on December 30th, 2017, to the locking of /qa/ on November 3rd, 2021. Knowing much of modern soyjak.party culture is derived from this era, archaeology is very helpful in order to understand how soy culture developed and how early soyposters acted, along with discovering the origin of various soyjaks and soy tradition. Many ‘jakkers look back on this era as not only a time of fun and nostalgia, but also a time of persecution and darkness. Anyone who was not active on the site at this time is a new soy.

People who study this era often use 4chan archive sites, such as Desuarchive, 4plebs or arch.b4k.

History

Around 2017, a new archetype of left-leaning men portraying effeminate characteristics were constantly mocked and posted by users on 4chan’s /pol/, gaining the nickname of "nu-males" and then later "soy boys" on the belief that soy makes men effeminate. /pol/ users often questioned why they kept posing with an open mouth during selfies, nicknaming this the "Soylent Grin."

In December 2017, the Swede, a wojak poster and OC maker on /int/, stumbled accross an /int/ thread poking fun at people obsessed with the nintendo switch. He saw 4 images and videos of soyboys, and thought it would be a funny idea if he made an edit of the Wojak as a soyboy. He posted this yet again in another thread, then stopped and slept. However, some people, including a Norwegian who can be regarded as the second soyposter in history, thought this image was absolutely hilarious and they decided to force this Wojak edit on nearly every single 4cuck board, especially /v/. At the time, /v/ was soyboy-ridden shithole with a plethora of console war threads consisting of Nintendo and Sony. The earliest soyposters thought it would be funny to post this on console war discussions, and /v/ laughed their ass off at this variant. /v/ quickly adopted this to poke fun at Nintendo soyboys, and to nobody’s suprise, it worked.
